A modern oyster bar focusing on Southern cuisine, highlighting fresh seafood and seasonal vegetables to share. Saltine, named as a nod to the plain cracker often served with seafood, pays homage to Jackson's rich history with oysters and seafood. Oysters
Time for lunch in Jackson, MS....love the inside space of this restaurant...they have a dog friendly patio, inside bar and plenty of tables inside with light coming thru the windows.. love this. So many choices on the menu that it was hard to choose, but our waiter Alex was very helpful. Love his energy and he was right - the beer battered fish was awesome, as the veggies that we ordered with it. Definitely a must on our next visit!!Hello, Thank you for the five stars! Weâre thrilled to learn that you enjoyed your recent visit to Saltine. Our goal is to provide outstanding food and service to each and every guest, so itâs wonderful knowing that your experience was no exception. Thanks again for the review; we look forward to seeing you back to enjoy the Catfish & Chips again soon!Ahna AbuvalaSaltine

This was exactly the casual, reasonably priced seafood stop my son and I needed midway through our trip back north. You order at a window and then go sit down. The place was chilly, so in the off-season bring in a jacket. He had never tried crawfish and loved them. We also got boiled shrimp and gumbo. Both were very good. I especially liked that the gumbo was not loaded with rice, had just enough. It's BYOB, and we saw several groups coming in with coolers. If I lived there I would definitely hang out with friends to watch sports. We will make a point to stop there on future trips to NOLA.

We had the best night of our vacation here listening to music and having a relaxing dinner, in this historic building.. The food was typical pub fare plus Po'Boys. We both had sandwiches which were fine. The beer list has many local beers. Great music venue and casual place to get a bite to eat for a reasonable price. Not far from Downtown and many of the hotels.
