We arrived at the restaurant after a walk around the beautiful gardens in the middle of our journey from Wexford to Dublin. It was just after 4pm so we had plenty of time to spare before the advertised lunch cut off time of 16:30 - after 16:30 its coffee and cake only. Service was a little slow but our order went in about 16.10. Burger for me, soup for my dining companion. 25 mins later we were still waiting and I was becoming concerned that if the was an issue with the order that we would then be too late to get food. It took a good 5 minutes to attract the attention of waiting staff who appeared to be busy tidying up for the day. When I did get attention and pointed out that we were still waiting on our meal the server rolled her eyes to heaven and without speaking to us went to the kitchen serving hatch. She returned to say that our order was now being plated up and that the delay was because the burger was being cooked from fresh. There was no apology or acknowledgement that 30 mins is a long lead time on a burger by any standard and especially if its fresh ( and not frozen). Sadly despite the long wait the burger was not that great - it was tasty but was too gristly for my preference. My expectations were very high here because - it's Avoca. Also for the price I would expect a much better burger. Whenever I have eaten in Avoca in Clonee or in Dublin city Centre it has been excellent. The cakes and biscuits on offer looked delicious and I regretted that I had not decided to stick to coffee and cake and eat my dinner when I got home. Husbands soup and seedy bread were lovely.

Ordered a breakfast omlette and was expecting a big enough for the price of 8.95 when it came out it looked like 1 egg omelette it was so thin and 1 slice of toast with no butter ...for 8.95 I was expecting a better size to be honest not worth it in the slightest...dont get me wrong the food is nice but not worth the money maybe other stuff on the menu is better portions

The shops are great and gardens are nice. The cafe is a conundrum. In summer itâs lovely to sit outside but internally it can be very noisy. The acoustics are poor and reverberate badly. Especially when their music is playing. The food is excellent but quite expensive. Possibly because the target market is visiting Americans and film producers. With Ashford Studios nearby donât be surprised to find a Viking nearby.

My mother, brother and I stopped in at Hannahâs for lunch on our way from Dublin to Kilkenny. We were after a fresh and light, but filling meal. This is exactly what we received. Our orders consisted of a chicken wrap, club sandwich and chicken baguette. These were made fresh to order and were very tasty. We also indulged in a hot chocolate and a cappuccino which hit the spot. The venue was cosy and welcoming and all of the staff were fantastic and so polite and friendly, which made our experience even more pleasing.

There are many scenic walks to discover, a river to admire, stunning views, a Foodhall with carefully selected artisanal food products, and our Garden Cafe. Avoca at Mount Usher Gardens is a haven of rare beauty and tranquility. Named by Monty Don as one
There were five of us visiting an extremely busy cafe on the St Patrickâs bank holiday Monday. The cafe was heaving and the staff worked tirelessly. We ordered soups - one chowder at 10.95 euro and three white onion potato cheese soups at seven euro 10 cents - which was the replacement to the advertised soup on the menu. One croque monsieur too at 14.55 euro. All came at the same time and everything was perfect taste wise. Really really tasty to the eye and palette. The soups came with delicious thick sliced breads and butter. Again totally delicious. For all of this the review would be 5 stars. We then ordered coffee and tea which again were fine. The cakes - pecan tart ( at 6.55 euro) and two fruit flans ( at 5.75 euro each) - looked amazing in the counter but unfortunately the look didnât match up to the taste expectations for us. Over elaborate, over decorated, slightly crude and really dry (the pecan tart) and sadly not really great. Hence overall review of 4 stars. Car parking on site. Hi there,Thank you very much for your review. Our customer feedback is hugely valuable to us, and we are happy to hear you enjoyed your soups at the Garden Cafe. Regarding your comments on the desserts, thank you for your feedback. We will ensure this is passed on to the team in an effort to continually improve our offering.Once again, thanks you so much for dining with us, and for your comments.Kind Regards,Avoca

If youâre looking for a nice place to have breakfast with your family definitely visit the bay cafe! I love love love that it is dog friendly aswell because I consider my dog part of my family so it is nice that she can sit down under the table while we eat so she isnât locked in the car with poor ventilation. I had the pancakes and added bacon to it and they were to die for, the pancakes were so fluffy and mouth watering good. The staff are all very friendly and you can see they interact well with each other and customers. Very impressive place.

Visited here this morning and it was just lovely. Sun pouring in, place spotless and the staff smiling and chatty. Breakfast so so fresh. I had scrambled eggs with avo on toast. My husband and daughter traditional full Irish and they rated it excellent. I'd asked for a sausage too and hands down tastiest one I've eaten in a long time. I saw a hot chocolate float past on its way to someone seated outside and wow. Heaped with tiny marshmallows it looked like a dessert. Papers are available. I like that little extra. Great start to our weekend. Will be back
