Coffee shop providing light breakfasts, lunches, cakes and pastries.
We stopped for tea at lunch, lovely place, very clean and a warm welcome. Everything we ordered was very good quality and arrived quickly, the staff were all very friendly. Very dog friendly and the baby changing is very well catered. Would not hesitate in going back!!Thank you - glad you enjoyed your visit and we ticked all the boxes! Look forward to welcoming you again in the future.Jackie

The goods:Great little town, with wonderful shops & buildingsCafe has a fantastic atmosphere; very retro with flowery cups & saucers, plates etcLovely setting Unusual soup; parsnip & apple, served with homemade (& very interestingly shaped) cheese scones Friendly service from most of the staffThe huge selection of cakes looked amazing although we were too full to try themThe not so goods:Our drinks were forgotten, due to a quick downpour outside. We werenât charged for them when they finally arrived howeverThey donât sell Diet Coke but do have a selection of other low-cal drinksOverall, this place is quite expensive but is a very pleasant experience. I was debating between 4-5* but I would recommend it; you get what you pay for. A great stop off along the A148.

My wife and I called in whilst walking the area. We understand that the building was, at one time the local telephone exchange so don't expect a large seating area inside. There are however far more tables outside which are reasonably well sheltered and I imagine pleasant on a fine day.As you might expect the menu is limited but the food we had was sufficient in quantity, well prepared and good quality. Another plus point is that the food preparation area is open for customers to view.

Ideal for a light lunch and afternoon tea. Fresh home made tasty food. Soup, Sausage Rolls, Cornish pasty with Branston Pickle, Ploughman's, Sandwiches, Quiche etc.served with a small very fresh salad. There is a good selection of cakes, scones etc, The Ginger Cake is highly recommended. Tea is served in a tea pot.The seating is at nice wooden tables amid a selection of old books, bric-a-brac, paintings, all for sale. There is also outside seating.Service is friendly and efficient.

We came looking for a good latte - tick. A good piece of cake to go with the coffee - tick. The real bonus was the offer of crab sandwiches freshly made eat in you get salad with it but we opted for takeaway. Nothing too much trouble and a good looking menu which we did not have enough time to sample - darn. Very pet friendly and great outlook over the sea.

Visited this quaint little tea room last week and it was lovely. Itâs quite a small place but the front and rear gardens are surprisingly spacious. We liked the mismatched China gave the place a quirky touch. Nice scones would definitely come back again.

This is an excellent place for coffee. Visited during the 40s weekend and it was busy. Coffee was great - the only downside was the unsmiling waitress who obviously didnât want to be working. A smile and a cheery greeting costs nothing!Hi Mel F.We're glad that you enjoyed your refreshments during the 1940s weekend, but disappointed you did not get the smile you were after. Our Modern Slavery Policy ensures that no members of staff are forced to work against their will. I'm sure that the staff member that served was showing the signs stress caused by running at 150% capacity during the busiest two days of the year for not only us, but the town. The 1940s weekend sees the towns population increase threefold, and as you can imagine managing this huge influx can be difficult and stressful for everyone. Our goal during this time is to ensure that everyone gets serves with a quality product and within an acceptable time under the circumstance, which judging by your comments we managed to achieve.

Popped in here hoping to get a table, we timed it well and managed to grab a table. We only wanted tea and cake as it was a bit late for lunch.Lovely menu with something for all tastes. We went for cake that they had on show at the covered counters. Thoroughly delicious cakes and lovely pot of tea which we managed to have nearly three cup fulls each.Great customer service also.Plenty of reading matter which you can also purchase.Car park around back of the cafe.Highly recommended.

Ignore the negative reviews, this is a small village store, does the basics. Milk, bacon, bread (etc) papers, excellent coffee and freshly baked savouries. Owners and staff are friendly and welcoming and always seems to have a mix of locals and tourists popping in. Itâs a shame itâs on the market but I can imagine itâs a tough trade to be in...Thank you for coming to see us and your lovely comments xx
