This great little cafe is located in Springmount Garden Centre, on the Ballycanew Road out of Gorey, Co Wexford. We were passing the Garden Centre recently and dropped in to take a look at some stuff for our garden. It is an interesting place to mooch around and we bought some things to help ready the garden for the Winter. We then went into the cafe intending to have a quick snack. But we were gobsmacked when we saw what was on offer. This place has a wide range of home-made food. I am not really a soup person, but we had delicious home-made soup which I would go back to this cafe again, solely to have some more of. We had not intended to have a main course but did so. Again it was delicious. I had a lovely plate with cheesy potatoes stuffed chicken breast wrapped in bacon and all of it was smothered with mushroom sauce and came with veg . My wife similarly had a great meal - a home-made beef burger with onions and gravy and mashed potato. She said it was exceptional. What added to it was that there was friendly and efficient table service - more like a good restaurant than a "cafe". And the prices were very reasonable, especially when you consider that you are getting all home-made produce. As well as this being a garden centre, we have now noted it as a place to go for an outing for a good lunch followed by a wander both indoors and outdoors in the garden centre. We will be back for more - it really was one of the most pleasant surprises ever!Thank you so much Dubtraveler for taking the time to give us such a great review. It is much appreciated.

Been here a few times and never disappointed. More than a cafè.Simon and his staff are very friendly. Restaurant is usually busy on Sunday's, often 15/20min waiting list, Simon will take your number and you can ramble around the garden centre. Food is excellent. I highly recommend it.

Had lunch here recently with a friend. We both had something from lunch menu â¬8.90 bap and some salad leaves which was very nice. Unfortunately our decision to have two extra salads took the enjoyment out of the lunch as the charge for these was â¬8.30, â¬4.15 each which I feel is way too expensive. I did have to ask a couple of times when paying as I thought they had made a mistake.

The Red Kettle is a traditional old style coffee shop that prides itself on serving great quality fresh food for every order. Serving the best coffee in Wexford and a extensive range of teas to suit all tastes. Gluten free option are available.
This little cafe was just around the corner from my Airbnb. As I walked past, I decided it would be my choice for breakfast the first morning staying in Wexford. It was a good option for me.Though not on the menu, when I said I wanted something like the breakfast deal, but without the meat, the proprietor graciously offered baked beans and grilled tomato to replace the bacon and sausage. I chose coffee along with that as I wanted a taste due to the âBest Coffee in Ireland 2014â sign in the window. It was, in fact, very good coffee. (I normally opt for espresso when available.) It was strong and smooth without the bitterness to which so many common coffees are prone. There was a family dining together when I came in at late morning. The kids were being kids, and I cheerfully struck up a conversation after the children were picked up from their grandfatherâs care. This is a casual place where it felt appropriate to speak to a stranger. The other customer also roped the proprietor and another employee into our discussion of caring for children and peace in the home. There were obvious regulars who came and went while I ate. I very much enjoyed feeling a part of everyday local life during my visit to the Red Kettle cafe in Wexford, Ireland.Thank you so much for such a lovely review which captures everything we are about. We get a lot of tourists who make us a regular daily stop for the exact reasons you have outlined. Thanks again and hope you enjoyed you visit to Wexford

We pop up there as our last day of Wexford visit. We reached there around lunch time. The staff were really friendly and happy to assist us, as we were not decided what should we have from the reach menu variety of food. We felt real good because staff customer service was at the highest level. Nice and unique atmosphere we had really good time.

On a recent skite to Wexford Town, we found ourselves outside this Rather ordinary looking cafe, after my wife enquired from a nearby shop attendant about where to get a good cup of coffee. We stepped inside to be met with a huge wall of buzz from the all but full room of diners, mostly locals, not one of whom looked up at us, such was their preoccupation with food and conversation. Iâd spotted the lady in charge at the same time as I noticed a couple leaving. At the same time sheâd signaled for the table to be readied. Within two minutes, we were perusing our menu at the table. Our chowder with chunky fish bits was the best Iâve tasted in quite some time, being filling and noticeably not overly creamy, accompanied with a delicious slice of home cooked brown bread. A mixed fruit scone was delicious and all the better for being so well presented. The coffees too were top notch. The ambience with shelves at the end of of the room, packed with quality books, just over an inviting couch. Each and every one of the staff were attentive without being obsequious. All in all, an excellent cafe which I thoroughly recommend.

Great place for hanging-out and relaxing over a leisurely coffee, breakfast, brunch or lunch. We enjoyed this place so much we had lunch on two consecutive days, dining outside on the pavement watching a laid-back world wander by. Nothing is done in a rush down in these parts and we appreciated the personal table service of the owner who made sure we were well fed and watered. All the burgers and fish cakes are divine, the home-made lemonades and cordials are very refreshing and the coffee was stupendous. We loved it.
