Set amid the rampant gentrification on Warren St, this cozy little restaurant provides a comfort breakfast or lunch at reasonable prices. We tried the homemade soup and half sandwich and they were flavorful and good value. Yes, the service is slow, so donât go here if you are in a hurry. Go here when you are sick of the hotsy totsy stores and cafes on Warren St and just want a touch of the old days. There are also homemade crafts and some antiques for sale as well as homemade baked goods. You can also make arrangements for a proper afternoon tea - by reservation.

Come in and enjoy fresh baked bread, pastries and coffee drinks every day from 7am until close. We also welcome you to join us while our Executive Chef serves French inspired dinners made to order for you, always made with seasonal and local ingredients w
Atmosphere is nice. Nothing special. The food which was only breakfast was terrible. Poached eggs were overcooked, practically hard boiled. Potatoes so overcooked you could not eat them. I went because the reviews had 4 stars but clearly not the case. And it wasn't as if the place was so busy. When we ordered breakfast at 9:30 am we were the only ones in there. I would not recommend this eatery at all. At end we paid 32.00 for a breakfast that was terrible.

Cascades was a perfect spot for a very good, straightforward lunch--no frills, nothing "special," just really well prepared sandwiches, GREAT soup specials, and excellent service. We each had a "combination"--half sandwich and cup of soup--and couldn't have been more pleased. The soup choices--turkey and wild rice and lentil--were excellent (the lentil was rich, well seasoned, smokey, the turkey/wild rice filled with lots of vegetable and meat), and the sandwiches were (as per the title of the review) really huge--even the half sandwiches, with the fillings bursting out. My husband had the Mount Merino--a reuben, with lots of really nicely prepared corned beef; I a Mount Shasta, with perfectly ripe avocado complimenting the lightly smoked turkey. Each was accompanied by a hefty portion of kettle-fried potato chips. It's a popular lunch spot, with what appeared on a weekday to be a mostly local crowd. The service was prompt and friendly, and the meal quite reasonably priced. We'll definitely stop by again when next in the area.

Had an assortment of sandwiches, all of which were good. All were filling without going to the extreme mega sandwich, which is simply wasteful. The ingredients were all good as well. The potato salad was terrific, really exceptional. Price was very reasonable. They would be a regular stop if we were local. If you are passing thru, give them a visit.

Pros: Lovely setting, attractive dining room and veranda, interesting menu.Cons: Single, untrained and overwhelmed waiter. Hour- long wait for food. Corned beef sandwich inedible--charred bread, greasy, gristly meat.

I have been going to this cafe for years but never thought to review it; it was always "just there". Well it recently moved from the local strip mall to its own full building, and I thought I should give it a shout out. Family owned and operated, it is a classic neighborhood eating hub. Itâs like every great diner you have been in, mostly local folks for customers, large portions, good prices, friendly service. Not trendy, tables and booths, paper placemats, breakfast all day, your meatloaf/turkey dinner/biscuits & sausage gravy kind of place. You will not go home hungry or broke.
