To find the shop, as you exit Kintetsu Nara Station, just walk a little south along Mochiidono-center-gai shopping arcade. Flavorful curry and curry bun made with plenty of vegetables and tasty spices. The varied menu runs from non spicy much items loned
Went here on a cold day after sightseeing. Their menu is amazing, with a lot of different styled curries (spinach, lamb, chicken, beef - and also vegetarian options!) and different levels of spiciness, ranging from sweeter, Japanese style curry to spicier ones. Their lunch set is quite good, paid 880 yen for a vegetarian curry cheese gratin, salad and some baguette. Portion size was perfect for me. For those who can't decide on one curry, they also offered a plate featuring four different kind of curries! Definitely coming back here soon!
As the name implies, this is a cafe mostly suited for dog-lovers, although that's not to say others are not welcome. It's location,in the settlement of Oishisotsuka, is an ideal location to take a wander then end the day at the Dog-Space cafe. Or,if you want to, just let your pet run free in the fenced enclosure. The menu is basic, but very fresh.

Pizzas were good but about half the size of what I like to see. Only came in around ¥1000 so cant complain too much. Good cocktail selection and nice enough place. Just wasn't wowed by the portion size, not to mention the prosciutto and salad pizza seems to literally be just that on bread with no cheese or tomato so quite possibly the healthiest pizza ever.

You can't miss this place if you are going to Uij. Beautiful Japanese garden, beautiful traditional building, and yummy matcha food. Just make sure you go early to avoid the line-up. We got there around 11am and only need to wait around 15min. Otherwise like the other reviewers have said expect to wait 45min to an hour

We stopped by this cafe on our way to temple. Itâs so delicious. The eels set is the best for my husband. And my pork set is so yummy. The macha ice cream is the best in this trip so far. Will come back for sure.
A little out-of-the-way, but well worth the time to experience dining at Mamechago. Once you arrive you will be blown-away with the establishment. The owner has a collection of some 20,000 jazz C.D's and some 500 tea-sets (you can choose the one you want to have your tea in). The interior dining has something for everyone. We chose to sit upstairs and admire the view through the window. The menu is great. I chose the Spicy Chicken Curry with salad and my wife chose the Egg sandwich with salad along with a ice coffee for me and tea for my wife. Both selections were so fresh.Access and parking may be a concern, especially if you have a large vehicle. The establishment is very well signposted. My wife and I chose to park our vehicle in the town of Kasagi and walk up.
Takenoko Cafe offers traditional Japanese cuisine, sweets and drinks. Coffee and vegetarian options are available.

After a very informative walking tour of Wazuka, we had lunch at the d:matcha cafe. As you would expect, the café serves many matcha based beverages but also several lunch entrees. We had the very delicious tan tan noodle dish. Vegetarian options are also offered. Several matcha themed desserts are also available which looked very tempting! Worth noting for non Japanese patrons is the bilingual menu. The back of the café has a large picture window for viewing growing fields. The entire café team is very friendly and professional, and most spoke English too making this an ideal stop during a visit to the tea growing and processing town of Wazuka.
