Three of us were in search of a quick lunch in Freudenstadt, and we had read that the Cafe Müller had a sister establishment in the village's main square called the Café Fontaine. We decided to eat inside despite the attractive-looking outdoor seating, because it was hot! We had three very good, filling sandwiches and two not-so-great goulash soups. Prices were reasonable, service rapid, and the woman who took our orders and served was smiling and charming. A good experience overall. Afterward, we took a longish walk around the village, followed by a stop for dessert at the Cafe Müller, for which a separate review.

Auf der Suche nach etwas "kleinem" essbaren, haben wir letztlich hier Stop gemacht, einfach weil es gut besucht war. Ja, das La Dolce Vita ist primär ein Eis-Café, aber sie bieten auch warme Speisen an. Kleine Karte mit den üblichen italienischen Gerichten. Und hier beginnen unsere angenehmen Ãberraschungen: super freundliche Bedienung. Hier halten nicht nur Radfahrer wie wir, sondern sehr viele Einheimische. Man isst Eis (die Gäste waren alle mehr als zufrieden) und manche auch was warmes. Wir hatten richtig leckeres, heiÃes Essen. Die Portionen sehr groÃ. Geschmacklich gut. Serviert wird gemeinsam. Es wird auch nachgefragt (ehrliche Nachfrage) ob alles in Ordnung ist. Kleinigkeiten, wie dass das Bruchetta (in der GröÃe einer Pizza - sehr lecker) trotz anderer Ansage zusammen mit dem Hauptessen kam, kann man dank der Gesamtlage und -service verschmerzen. Hier sitzt man unterhalb der Altstadt, verkehrsberuhigt (davon bekommt man wenig mit) und hat ggb. eine Strandbar vom gleichen Café. Also Ambiente, Lage, Service und Angebot passen.

With two main courses from the weekly menu, a slice of black forest gateau to share , coffee and a couple of drinks our bill was a bargain at â¬28. Service was friendly and helpful too. If they have Maultaschen al forno on the menu you will not be disappointed!

Cafe pause is next door to the museum, right in the middle of the markt place.. We sat there late one afternoon, people watching. Drinking gorgeous fruit cocktails. Very friendly table service. Although we did not eat there the menu looked very good. You eat inside or sit out in the large sunny or shaded area on the square.

It was a year ago that we called in here, mainly for black forest gateau but they had sold out so we got a few different cakes between us to try out. Great cakes, of top quality. Love the personalities in there too. Will be returning now we live int he area
