Cozy and beautiful atmosphere, friendly service and very good food with an original touch. Coffee and drinks are also very good. And considering the quality and the nice, relaxing setting, in Switzerland you don't expect such fair prices. Two thumbs up, but beware of the tartare if you don't like chese: it has Parmesan in it.

A large bay window overlooking Piazza Grande, differentiated spaces in a classic style with innovation, a varied and well cared offer with an eye on prices, a friendly and efficient service. After a major restyling of conservative type the Bar Verbano sho
After completing the circuit Centovalli train to Domodossola, train to Stresa, lunch and a long nostalgia walk around the town and the boat back to Locarno, this was a good stop for an aperitivo and light dinner. Staff were friendly and the salads very tasty. As we were in Switzerland it was a nice surprise to be served some nibbles with the spritz. Great for people watching as it is on Piazza Grande. Recommend.

The little beach was ideal for my grandfatherly duties, when staying in San Nazzaro. Entrance is free and there is a little Mexican-run Snack-Bar, which besides their food and drinks offers all kind of toys to use in the water or on land, like table-tennis or table-football. A 2m-diving-board is available, also a bathing-raft. The whole area, which is half lawn, half sand is pretty small and gets very crowded in summer. There are tables, ombrellas, a few sunbeds. The background music has the whole range from Latin to German 'Schlager'.Food is Mexican-influenced, but there are also Panini, Pizza, Hot Dog, American Toast or Ice Cream available. More interesting are their Mexican dishes like: Pizza with Cochinita Pibil (achiote-roasted pork), then Jalapeños stuffed with Cheese or Nachos with Guacamole. The very friendly and multilingual people, who are running this place, also offer 4 kind of Mexican Beers, most popular being the Corona for 5 CHF. They also have open wine - red or white: the 1dl-glass goes by 3.50 CHF, the halfliter bottle for 17 CHF.The view across the lake is beautiful and this is what I enjoyed most, when drinking my Corona-beer and watching my Caifornian grandchildren play for hours in the water. Since there is a shipping pier next to the mini-lido and the place for swimmers very limited, I used to go for my daily swims to a half-deserted pebble beach about 500m south from here.
