You immediately feel like they've been waiting for you. We were welcomed and served by very adorable girls. Since we hadn't made reservation, girls offered us to share a table with nice open fashionable ladies. It was fun. And the food was so tasty! Definitely reccomend!

Located right beside the castle ruins, the Alda is a convenient place to get a coffee or other drink after a visit to the castle and other places in the park. They provide drinks to go if, like me, you had to race back to get the tour bus.
Caramel is a cafe inspired by french bakery and love for traditional Estonian bread. In ether of our two cafes you can take a moment for yourself to sit down and enjoy our high-quality coffee and freshly baked pastries or grab a box full of excellent cake
Located very close to the train station, one just has to make a pit stop when heading towards the center. Sweet and friendly service. Pastries are fresh and tasty, the only problem is making a decision what to get. I usually get things to go, but there are also tables and I have spotted that quality beans are used for coffee.

The Viljandi coffeehouse offers catering for up to 90 persons.
poor lunch: salmon soup can't be called as a soup at all, i can make better at home, too small portion, grilled salmon was good, but green salad wasn't fresh at all, French fried potatoes with sausages were good. Advise not to eat at this place, only if you are too hungry and the rest places to eat are closed.
Strongly suggest the place for a daily lunch or quick dinner, the quality of the meal is superior! The service also is nice, fast and the place itself is very comfortable, new and modern. Just don't go there while the theatre visitors are having a break. :) So I mostly suggest the place for daily lunch.
