We've been here before and actually recommend it to friends, but this trip this year, proved to be one of the not so great pizza's we've had in previous years. New chef? Different chef? The sauce was flavourless, crust was still thin, but also flavourless and and cheese, usually dripping off it, wasn't, and the toppings shy - we ordered a Hawaiian. The manager was raving about how much we'd enjoy the pineapple that day....not so...it was just all so forgettable, I'm afraid. Hope they figure it out...because this hasn't been our experience in the past.

I love a thin crust pizza and Tracey's hand-crafted pizzas are the ultimate in freshness and choice ingredients.The recent addition of ridiculously yummy salads and also the new lunch hours is a real bonus! La Ballena Roja is always a fun place to meet up with friends and enjoy a relaxed and festive atmosphere while eating super delicious food!It brings me joy that you enjoy my food and the space I've created. Nestled into the jungle, overlooking the Pacific Ocean this beautiful open-air Rancho has true Costa Rican charm. Owner and chef JazmÃn GodÃnez, presents a food experience like no other.The 4-course presentation includes integration of ingredients from her on-site garden and local organic farmers. Each dish is prepared with love over and open fire and includes layers of flavors as well as edible and medicinal plants. I was blown away by the level of technique used for each preparation and presentation. Not only is the food amazing, but Jazmin welcomes you like family. From the time that you arrive until the time you leave Jazmin is explaining each presentation including the benefits of the medicinal plants included. Definitely an experience not to be missed. Note; reservations required.In addition to dining, Jazmin also offers cooking classes using local ingredients and techniques. We both had the ravoli - one with ricotta and white sauce and one with bolognese - the bolognese one was fine and the ricotta one tasted of nothing whatsoever!The ravioli itself was a bit too al dente for my liking.The music was too loud and not very easy on my ears.Thank you very much for sharing your experience, sorry to read what happened, a thousand apologies, I assure you we will work on it, I hope you visit us again and give us the opportunity to earn the two remaining stars, if you would like to write to me [email protected] if It is not annoying and you will indicate the approximate day and time in which all this happened, since the ravioli are internationally known and our customers are always satisfied, but this type of comments help us to improve continuously, a thousand apologies again.

It's easy to not try the food at the Dome restaurant by judging it just on its exterior. However, the inside is totally different and pleasant. The food is great and waitresses very attentive and nice personalities. They also have seating on the rooftop. I did not get a chance to eat there as it was rather hot in Uvita when I vacationed there.

Great selection of sushi. None of us like the fake crab meat so they made our role (dynamite) without it. The spicy tuna role was one of the best Iâve had...anywhere. We had live music when we visited which added to the fun atmosphere. Highly recommend
