Things to do in Trincomalee
Staff were good and attentive. We ordered cheese sandwich and prawn noodles. The cheese sandwhich was quite small. The noodles were tasty like Singapore noodles but it had tiny shrimp and not prawns. The portion was also small so I had to order fries after.
This place, with it's ocean view, provides an ideal spot to chill and grab a quick bite or a tasty meal. It's situated in a former Dutch Bank building. Being this is our first visit here, I was surprised it was not listed on the top 10 joints to eat in Trinco. The place is clean, and has a variety of choices from Pizza to Koththu Roti. Most importantly for me, the rest rooms were well maintained and clean as well. There's both indoor and outdoor seating with an ocean front view. Although another local, that frequented the spot, said the service was iffy, the staff was very friendly to our group and I found them very accommodating. I was told they offer lodging as well in an attached building behind the restaurant.
The place changed names and is now called 'Laila hotel spot'. Although a hotel is not always a hotel in Sri Lanka and more a simple place to eat. Nice staff, had 2 chicken kotthu and 2 cola for Rs500 which I think is a very fair price especially in a tourist town like Uppuveli. It's simple and there is not too much choice but it does the trick and the food was delicious so I would definitely recommend to go here for a quick bite.
This was one of my favourite places we ate at during our 2 week trip in Sri Lanka. We actually ate here 4 times! We only ate Sri Lankan dishes, which were rich and spicy, just as they should be. It felt like we were getting proper sri lankan food, not the watered-down stuff you find at many of the neighbouring places. Highlights were the crab curry, some of the vegetable side dishes and the whole fish. The staff were also all nice guys. Talkative and friendly. Good luck with the new place guys!Alan (UK) and Josephine (Belgium)

After searching for eating burgers at TripAdvisor and red many positive feedbacks, we were full of expectations and went to pizza and burger hut. There are only 2 tables, and one of them was available. The owner welcome us and was very nice and friendly. We ordered 4 beefburger meals. After about 25 mins (very normal in Sri Lanka), food arrived to the table and looked very promising. Our disappointment was big. The hamburger wasnât good. The meet was cold(!) and have a funny flavor. I was trying hard to eat the hole thing, even though I was worried about my stomach for later.Eventually, my husband and I finished our burgers, but our kids refused to take another bite. I must say that this morning is the day after, and non of us have stomach problems, so I guess the meet was ok, simply not delicious. French fries in the other hand were very good, very similar to McDonalds style. We decided to trying the Pizza, after all the kids canât stay hangry, but also here disappointed was big, simply not tasty. I donât understand the reviews of these restaurant, I wouldnt recommend this place, unless you are looking for a great French fries. But if you are looking for burger, sorry - No.As I mentioned, the owner was very kind, I asked for a salad which they donât have in the menu, so he cutted for me some vegetables and didnât took any charge for it. He is really trying his best but unfortunately the food is not enough. In addition it wasnât cheap, we pay about 5,000 rupi for 4 beefburger males and 1 pizza. My score-French fries - 10Beefburger - 3Pizza - 3×× × ×× ××××ª× ×××××¦× ×¢× ××ק×× ×××, ×¢× ××£ ×× ×ר××ת, ××××× ×¤×©×× ×קר ××× ××¢××, × ×§×××. ××××× ×××ר××£.

It's a small cafe which seats maybe 16 - 20 people, run by a cool and dedicated team. The focus is on delicious, organic food spanning a wide variety. We went there twice as every family member loved it. Try the berry bowl or the salads and their sandwiches are delicious as are the fresh drinks, well you will have to try all this out by yourself. Enjoy.
