We popped in here for breakfast last Saturday on the way home after attending the Latitude music festival. I seriously doubt you could find a more warming , engaging, conversational , authentic, pleasing welcome at any Cafe in the UK. The two ladies running the show should start a business of advising others on how easy it is to provide AAA customer service. The food was fresh, well cooked and presented and extremely well priced. The flat white coffee was so good I ordered a second. Would definitely recommend a visit if you happen to be passing through Saxmundham at any stage.

A unique beach side restaurant in the heart of the picturesque Aldeburgh. Serving Meals with daily menus as well as coffees.
Liked the look of the menu so we booked in advance. The food is very good and well presented. The service is slow and this busy restaurant seems understaffed which lets the place down. I even had to chase to pay my bill. For some reason the door was wedged open causing a draught. Maybe this is down to the log fire which gives the smoky smell and ambience but I noted several diners putting on their coats.

I visited here for a light lunch. It seemed chaotic. The staff were rushed and werenât familiar with the new menu when I asked questions. Lots of other people were having problems with their orders not just me. Things were being sent back to the kitchen by many people. I ordered a large latte and an avocado and chilli jam sandwich. The latte arrived and it was a small one so I had to ask for the larger one I had paid for. Then after over a 20 minute wait the sandwich finally arrived. I had long finished my coffee by this time. There were pieces of a boiled egg scattered on the plate, butter on the chopped cucumber where theyâd obviously been using the same chopping boards and equipment for different things, which everyone in the catering world knows you should never do. Also I donât like egg so I picked the bits off my plate, I did mention it to a rushed staff member they did apologise and offer to replace the sandwich. As is already waited so long I said not to bother. I was bitterly disappointed. We visit Aldeburgh regularly and eat out at lunch time often but this is one place I would never go to again. Shame as it has the potential to be a fab cafe. Iâm sure the kitchens could do with an inspection and the staff really need proper training.Thank you for taking the time to leave us feedback of your recent experience at Two Magpies, Aldeburgh. I'm certainly surprised and sorry you had a poor experience on this occasion. I have spoken to the management team to get a better understanding of what happened and whilst they admit fault on serving the incorrect sized coffee, which was quickly addressed, they felt they had done everything on the day to try and mitigate the situation so it's disappointing to now read this feedback on Tripadvisor. I do apologise that you didn't receive the high level of service that we usual achieve but do hope that you would try us again where i'm certain we will deliver and meet your expectations. Kind Regards,Yasmin

We were in Aldeburgh last week to celebrate my husband's birthday. It was a very hot day and we popped into Munchies to get a cool refreshing drink. All the tables in front were taken but we were told to go through to a courtyard. There were about 5 ladies already there and at least 3 people came to deliver their food and drinks. We waited and waited and waited. We tried to catch the eye of the 3 girls who serving but we were completely ignored. After some 20 - 25 minutes we got up and left. A cheerful young man said thanks for your visit and come again! Well no actually we won't. It is polite to actually acknowledge someone and say they will be with you shortly.Hi This is so sad and clearly a miscommunication Itâs very, very rare that we donât attend a table immediately and I apologise unreservedly for this.If you didnât have menus with you at the table, that are given as you arrive, then the waitress would have assumed you had already ordered as we take them in once you have ordered There is a public access to our terrace which maybe you used rather than the restaurant front door and then you wouldnât have been on our radar ? Customers with menus are served within a few minutes without fail If you had come in through the front door we would have said just that â We will be with you shortly â we actually tell the customers as they arrive the name of the person who will be looking after them so we canât have greet you at all. Iâm so sorry this happened but we canât close the public alley that goes up to our terrace

One visit for breakfast (not cheap but top quality ingredients all freshly cooked) and another for Sunday lunch (good plate of food again). Excellent on all counts and so far from the corporate chains as it could ever be. Local people running their business their way and very well too. Donât expect rushed in and out service, go with the flow and enjoy. Recommended.

A simple cafe by the beach. Breakfasts served until 12pm Lunches until 3.30pm We look forward to seeing you soon.
After enjoying a walk along the beach and clifftops from Thorpeness we settled down in the afternoon sunshine to enjoy a drink and a cake before the walk back. Friendly service and tasty offerings this makes for a good venue with a choice of snacks or larger meals as required. Seating available either inside or out and adjacent to the beach and car park. Toilet facilities located next to the cafe.

We had a terrific late-afternoon 3 course meal with several drinks, the service was welcoming, friendly and efficient, the food was absolutely delicious, the fish curry is to die for and it's probably the best garlic bread we've ever tasted. Marvellous value at £72 for 3 courses and several drinks including wine.

We were in Aldeburgh for the day, and having had a full English breakfast at our cottage, we just fancied a snack and a non-alcoholic beverage (heavy night previously). This is a charming tea room, and had plenty of customers, so we took up a couple of tables in the rear âcourtyard.â Massive selection of teas and other hot drinks. A few of us also had a bite to eat, with the jam and cream scones going down really well (cream first, then jam is definitely the way to do it). Enjoyable
