Sandwich bar / Café / Coffee Shop serving delicious home baked baguettes, Jacket Potatoes stacked with home made fillings, home made soups, dish of the day.
I just love this little place and if time allows I manage a coffee at least, most days.Sometimes I'll have Porridge, sometimes a Full English Breakfast. Sometimes I'll have a Panini for Lunch or a delicious piece of cake , baked by Janey, Local Girl(she will like that!) who just cooks and bakes such gorgeous food. All the ladies working in the L K are such good friends to me now and there is no match in Dover.
The Boost Food Kitchen offers breakfast, brunch, lunch, pancakes, shakes, juices and good coffee plus our delicious, healthy prepped meals for on-the-go!
From the outside it looks great and when we walked through the door and were greeted with a warm welcome things were looking good. Unfortunately that was the peak of our experience. Service - after the initial greet it was not great. A LONG wait from placing the order through to getting the food. I would say 35 minutes and no exaggeration there. Not one apology for it running late or even when the food arrived a âsorry for the delayâ.Food - pancakes were lovely and fluffy but needed a fair bit more maple syrup. One of the eggs on the benedict had obviously broken during cooking so was left with a part boiled hard centre. I ordered a hash brown but what was served was a grey, wet and bland griddled potato mix. Which resembled a poor attempt at bubble. Certainly not the hash Iâd seen on pics and people cannot rave about what I got. Did I send it back, nope, having waited so long I just wanted to eat. I would of raised it discreetly at the point of âhow is your foodâ but we didnât get that either. So, looks lovely, Iâm sure they do give good food and service, as other reviews have mentioned but today it missed the mark by a mile. Shame really as we go out most weekends for breakfast / lunch and this would be local for all. Hi, Thanks so much for your feedback for our cafe in Whitfield. We really appreciate any feedback, that's of course how we grow and improve. I have only recently taken over the cafe, so want to personally address any issues we may have. I would like to take the opportunity to personally invite you back. Please let me know if you're available to pop in today, I would really like to get it right for you this time and hopefully show you it was just that, a bad day. Many thanks and best wishes, Kate

This is a pleasant âgreasy spoonâ with fairly nice surroundings considering. Basic greasy spoon fare but all in all inexpensive so to be recommended on that account. Just donât expect anything special. You can get far superior elsewhere but for nearly double the price. I think the reason to give it 3 rather than 4 blobs is the waitress said something very strange to my wife. Even though she was pleasant my wife was told off for putting her mug of tea on the table without using her saucer as it could make a ring mark on the tableâvery strange.

Deliteful little friendly coffee house (I think the best in Deal) & eatery with well spaced seating & a lovely selection of savoury and sweet meals and treats. Vegan, vegetarian and gluten free all catered for, albeit a limited selection, but still very nice. The best coffee in town!

If you are charging £13.00 for a hot dog with no cheese , onions or chips it had better be the best Hot dog ever.Well it wasn`t the sausage did not even fill the bun and putting some sliced gherkin on the top with mustard and ketchup is no where near enough. My wife had the open halloumi sandwich which was also underwhelming .Dear Matthew Sorry to read you were left disappointed with your meal. I can't tell from your review, or our booking system, which day/night you were in and we had nothing on our daily reports to indicate any customers were dissatisfied with these particular menu choices. Our hot dog is indeed one of our most popular items on the menu. I would always encourage customers to let us know of any issues at the time and we'd endeavour to make your experience better. Perhaps you'll give us another try in the future and we can change your mind. Best regards

Iâd spotted this traditional tea shop some time ago but not managed to get there during opening hours. They make a really excellent pot of tea. And, yes, it is a pot. Everyone gets a china teapot. And china cups. Very important. And the cake was very good too. So I would totally recommend it from the food point of view. But the older chap behind the counter didnât smile once during our visit (maybe his cat had died?) and the very young staff didnât seem to have a clue how to engage with their customers. If you have customers, attend to them before clearing tables. As a waitress, continuously scan the room for anyone who is trying to attract your attention. Some people will want serving more quickly than others. Some will just want to chat to their companions. Smile. Try to engage in friendly chat. Pity little Harriette wasnât there.

We ate here last year and was back in Dover again this year. So we called into the The Happy Chef for breakfast. The staff were very polite and the cafe was clean as previous visit. Food was all cooked as we requested. There is parking outside.

From the reviews Iâd seen online I was expecting a traditional tearoom but found it to be more of a cafe. The staff were friendly and service was quick but it didnât live up to my expectations.Dear WoolGreen2 we are sorry to hear that our Pines Garden Tearoom did not live up to expectations. We are not clear whether you were in the Tearooms, outside cafe or Yurt and gardens ? We have a wide range of indoor and outdoor facilities with our garden produce home grown or made by us (Cakes and scones). We do hope you will give us a try another time.
