When you visit a relatively remote garden surrounding an Elizabethan hall, ,you might hope to find some sort of refreshments, but it's a rare treat to visit a friendly, attractive tearoom serving delicious gluten free cakes that are homemade and safe to eat. Parceval Hall's tearoom is situated in the most peaceful, wonderful place, and is absolutely the icing on the cake. Do make sure, if you visit, to take time to relax in the gardens, and soak up the atmosphere before treating yourself!

No brown bread of any description. Overpriced very average sandwiches. The mayonnaise was running out of the bread. Lesson learnt, never again.

Cafe above health food shop
I've eaten here a couple of times, most recently at the weekend. It's upstairs above the wholefood shop, so access might be difficult or impossible for some. The interior is pleasant and kind of old-fashioned. There's a small set menu and a specials board. The food is wholesome and very tasty, service is good, and prices are reasonable. If you are vegan, you need to tell them when ordering as even dishes marked 'vegan' are not always vegan when served.

Cafe bistro serving home made English food from breakfasts , sandwiches ,to steaks and seafood . All produce is bought localy and all dishes home made
Stopped at the cafe while waiting for the rest of my party to catch up on their bikes. I had a pot of tea and a scone with jam and cream and what a delight it was! The scone was lovely and fruity and served warm with proper jam and fresh whipped cream, all nicely presented. The menu for meals also looked very appealing.

£7.95 all day breakfast. Half an hour wait. Breakfast consisted of ONE yes ONE small rasher of bacon. ONE small sausage completely devoid of any taste Two hash browns One small cold egg A portion of cheap tasteless baked beans. Half a tomatoe and toast. The toast was the highlight of this miserable fair. I have had some poor breakfasts in my time and this was right up there amongst them.Dear John S,That is an horrific review. I can only say that I am sorry you were so disappointed. I understand my staff knocked everything off the bill which I hope helped a little. Breakfast are an important part of our offering so I will certainly look at what happened. There is a constant review as to what goes on our breakfast plate, particularly with regard to the sausages. Our overall reviews do not reinforce your experience. But I hate anybody having a miserable time.... that is certainly not why I set up the cafe.Yours sincerely,David Roberts

Booked a table for 8.30pm and arrived to a practically empty restaurant. We were quickly seated, but I was cold. The heater was on but the room is big and chilly. We ordered drinks which arrived. I ordered a burger and my husband ordered the lamb. Before this my starter arrived ( a bit too quickly more like fast food) garlic mushrooms on sourdough, these were adequate and tepid could be much hotter. My husband really enjoyed the lamb but my burger wasnât the best. When I cut into it the burger crumbled, plus again it was tepid. The chips were salted (a lot), I did say when paying that the chips were extra salty to be told you can have them unsalted ( the staff would probably best asking the customer that question do you want salt? when ordering). I started to feel a bit in the way as the staff were cleaning up around us ( we were the only people in at this point) blowing out candles on tables. The whole meal seemed rushed and I really didnât enjoy it. I wonât be back I donât think which Is a shame as I was looking forward to going. In and out in about one hour and £55 lighter.

This cafe takes me back to the 1950/60s. Oil cloth table cloths, willow pattern plates, teapots that will not pour tea easily and big chunky cutlery. It's a bit cramped between tables, especially if your neighbours are on the stout side. Parking nearby is at a premium. BUT - what a cracking full English breakfast for not a lot of money. Almost always perfectly cooked and usually with very little waiting time, The roast lunches are good too, very simple but very tasty. You're unlikely to get rare beef and the vegetables are usually carrots, peas and cabbage - so nothing fancy but such good value. Definitely a leap back in time.

Called in here after staying overnight at the Travelodge; first visit to Skipton. Two of us chose the granola with fruit and yoghurt and our friend had the half breakfast. The granola was beautifully presented, was a very good-sized portion and was delicious. The half breakfast was excellent value at £7 including a cup of tea and was also very well presented and included several fresh tomatoes and mushrooms as well as sausage, egg, beans, toast and bacon. We sat upstairs where the decor was very quirky and interesting. The staff were lovely too, making the whole experience very pleasant. Highly recommended.Hello!Thank you for taking the time to leave such a great review of your visit! We are so glad that you enjoyed your breakfast and our quirky little bar!We hope that you return in the future and look forward to seeing you again. Thanks again,The Two Sisters
