Things to do in Samosir Island

This is a little cafe about 5 minutes walk from Hotel Carolina, Tuk Tuk, Samosir, Indonesia. It was the highlight of my recent trip to Lake Toba (apart from the lake) and deserves some publicity. Doesn't have a website.
I walked past this quaint place a few times and always noticed plenty of customers eating there. Finally, I decided to try it out myself and ordered the Sak Sang (pork with spicy gravy) upon recommendation. The pork was tender and extremely flavourful. Unfortunately, when I wanted to sample their other dishes on a Sunday, the restaurant was closed. Take note not to visit on a Sunday !

Bakeries are little on the expensive side but pretty delicious tho. Place was clean and quiet, overall I can recommend eating here.
Serves western-style coffee and cakes; local Indonesian dishes (upon request). Can also help with tourist information needs, especially if you're new to the place and need help/recommendations getting around, e.g. If you need information on how to get to
Nice coffee and toast for breakfast!Their guacamole toast with egg&tomato is gorgeous :) They roast coffee beans in a traditional way by themselves and it tastes quite good and fresh.
This coffee shop, which boast beautiful viewpoint of Lake Toba from several huts beside the hill, is found in east coast of Samosir Island, along Jalan Pulau Samosir road down South. Please do not confuse with the address in Google, it is not found in Parapat. From here, rolling hills, Tuktuk Siadong and Parapat can be seen from a distance. This place is recommended for those on a road trip heading Southeast of Samosir Island, since it is conveniently located along the way. This is a good place to stop for a rest from driving. Do order a drink while you are here, since the coffee shop has put in the effort to maintain the viewpoint and needs our support.
