Reykjavik bears the distinction of being the world’s northernmost capital, and for many Icelandic visitors it also serves as a gateway to the rugged adventure options beyond. Recharge after outdoor pursuits in one of the many geothermal springs or luxurious indoor spas. We appreciate Reykjavik’s open-minded and energetic culture that includes a hip and internationally recognized music and arts scene, great food and notoriously "enthusiastic" nightlife.

A friend recommended this cafe and I can understand why... tasty, delicious and variety of food. Relaxed and friendly atmosphere - staff are very nice! Good option for breakfast and lunch - and some great vegetarian options.

just a disaster... Food went from good to worse and worse, managers are dodgy, Surprised that they are still allowed to do business at all and they also think they are above the law..

We were overwhelmed with how delicious our Icelandic breakfast was this morning. I am not totally sure what we ordered but it included rye bread, a delicious soft cheese, hard boiled egg, salad, smoked salmon, and a rye bread ice cream. The staff was friendly and accommodating and we were absolutely stuffed after our meal. This was a first time experience for me and I hope it won't be the last. Plus we had a perfect view of the Hallgrimskirkja church in front of the cafe. Such a wonderful and authentic breakfast experience.

I love fish and chips and they had the best I've ever eaton at Kaffivagninn. They are right on the Old Warf in Reykjavik, a very scenic site. We all had fish & chips and a Viking beer and it was a great meal.

We had booked the place in advance for a closed party. 1. When we arrived there was not enough of chairs and tables for all of us so 2 people had to sit at the bar.2. We did not all get our drinks at same time - some had to wait a long time for the house red wine.3. We all had the same menu and were supposed to share. f.x we were twenty something on my table and we got one plate with 3 small bites of fish. 4. When we complained the waiter was rude and told us not to eat so much.5. Those sitting at the bar were never served we had to share our meals with them.Conclusion. Will never go there again.Hello DÃsaThank you for your message and sorry for the late reply. We are very sorry you did not have a good experience with us and would love the chance to make it up to you!Your co-worker who booked the event was notified that we did not have seats for everyone and that we could host the event as a standing cocktail party with food served family style. The person in charge of the event also contacted us the day after thanking us for good food and service so this message came as a surprise. But our goal is always for everyone to have a good experience with us and therefore would like to make it up to you personally. Please feel free to send us an email if you accept our offer for a complimentary meal. // [email protected] regardsÃris

A tiny, family owned soup restaurant in the heart of Reykjavik. We are proud to be the first and the original "soup in bread" restaurant in Iceland. We've been serving soups in bread for over 20 years amd we love it. Please note: We do not take reservatio
Serves beer & fabulous soups in bread. This evenings choices were a veggie soup with coriander and the meat one had beef, lamb and vegetables. We tried the meat one which was delicious- more a stew than soup but filling & great value at 1950isk. The IPA beer was crisp and citrusy as it should be.
