Restaurant / Café style dining. All meals produced within the cafe kitchen from seasonal and/or cafe grown produce. Regularly changing menu and special board.
This eggs Benedict is just perfectly done. You order an eggs Benedict and you get an eggs Benedict, as it should be. Excellent hollandaise, precision in the poaching, a real English muffin, no funny jawbreaker breads, no salads or slaws, no fusion, no Asian spices or seeds, no flowers and NO CORIANDER! Gorgeous staff, I'm ready to go back anytime.

We just had lunch at the cafe and it was a pleasant experience considering the variety of home made food on offer. The cafe is air con which makes it comfortable
Scotty's Cafe is inside the Scotty's Cinema Multiplex at Raymond Terrace, a short drive west-north-west of Newcastle and not too far from Lake Macquarie or Maitland. The cinema is adequate and comfortable but not quite as plus as the big chains in town and in the suburbs. But the bonus is that Scotty's keeps the prices down. Sub ten dollars for single movies with nearby free parking is almost unheard of.To the cafe. Staff very pleasant and accomodating. Coffee good (and improving each repeat visit). Cakes and light snacks fresh and priced low-to-mid range. Ambience a tad low as the cinema and cafe windows overlook a shopping car-park.

On Sunday I visited the Old Rectory Tea House with 3 friends, and we enjoyed a beautiful breakfast of fresh fruit, cereals, corn fritter, bacon and poached eggs. It was lovely sitting by the open fire while leisurely enjoying our breakfast. The hosts, Helena and Victor were very friendly and even sat with us for a few minutes at the end. I would definitely go back for the fritters - they were great!
Dropped in for coffee. Recently renovated and extended to a full café. Has a full breakfast and lunch menu as well as the usual patisserie offerings. Coffee was excellent as usual

Coffee and pie were okay - average. However the blueberry muffin was like a plain cake with a few blueberries sprinkled on top. Not what I expected. I should have tried the apple slice!
