Looking for a hearty brunch, quick bite to eat or a steaming cup of coffee? The George Street Canteen has all you need. Tucked away in the heart of St Albans City centre this family run cafe serves wonderfully comforting home made food speciality coffee a
The Canteen does not have a large indoor seating area, but the outside is beautiful and overlooks the St Albans Cathedral. The food is fresh, healthy, and very well prepared with the brunch items a particular favourite. The hidden nature of George Street means that you are a 5 min walk to the heart of St Albans and the marketplace, but tucked away in a quiet garden. The service is always lovely and this is one of the place I love to take visitors to St A. My only disappointment is that it not open for dinner.

WE wandered into Borehamwook hoping ot find somewhere for a quick coffe before we set off on long sectin of london Loop walk, Fund this palce and were sotaken witht he menu we ordered coffee and cakes for our elevensesand then take away sandwiches to eat later. Fantastic bagels cooked on the premsises but therew was a much wider choice of home baked breads. The fillings too all seemed home made and of great quaiity. All very reasonably priced. Comfortable seating and loads of characters wandering in and out. Strongly recommend this for breakfast and lunch.
I always love these kind of cafes. I was starving on a Sunday morning and took a walk around Radlett. Found this cafe open earlier than advertised - supposed to be 9.00 a.m.I had a great big breakfast and a beaut of a coffee which is included in the price, (as well as toast).Watching TV and reading the paper and chilling on a Sunday morning. Its a popular place as quite a few 'tradies' came in for orders to take out or sit in. Definitely the best place I tried in Radlett and will go there again when I go back later in the year.

A local favourite with best of Italy in its menu! Come for breakfast/brunch, Lunch and Dinner. Suitable for Vegans and those with food intolerances just speak to us when ordering.
Another happy visit to Carmeloâs. We had absolutely delicious seafood risotto: excellently prepared by the always chatty and bubbly chef Vincenzo. Andrea and Sunna were as professional and friendly as always: made us feel welcome all evening. I highly recommend it!!Thank you for your feedback. It is very much appreciated. We hope to welcome you soon. Carmeloâs Kitchen

For a cafe, the menu is extensive from the usual breakfast staples, sandwiches, panini to burgers, pastas and a la carte. The food was very good for the price so itâs definitely decent value for money. They only accept cash so come prepared. Whilst busy is good for business, being crammed so close to other tables was quite awkward. Service was also a bit slow but I guess thatâs understandable.

I had a lovely tea here with friends this week. Their home made cakes are delicious, and they always have gluten free options. They do every coffee imaginable, and will make it to your taste (I like weak Latte). Lovely surroundings, and some nice shops there too.Definitely worth a visit.

My husband has been buying the smoked salmon and cream cheese bagels there for some time - he enjoys them. Today I bought 2 and was charged £8.50. I pointed out that on the price blackboard the price of this bagel to take away was £4.00 so I queried the total charge thinking it should be £8. I was told rather offhandedly that the price on the blackboard was incorrect!Hi, itâs Lawrence here, the owner of Yummies.Unbelievably, we have had both yours and another bad review on the same day! Firstly, the price of the smoked salmon and cream cheese bagel should be £4.25 and has been for sometime. We had no idea it hadnât been changed on our blackboard and I appreciate you pointing it out. We have tried to explain to our team that a good attitude sorts out all problems. If a customer notices a difference in price they should always be charged at the lower price until we rectify OUR mistake. I am so sorry that you had this experience in our Radlett deli. We try to install a friendly approach to all customers in our staff. My wife Allie and I are away at the moment. Usually she is there on a Friday and of course it never happens when the boss is there! This is all assuming that you were in our Radlett deli on Friday? I have spoken to my manageress Odette, and she will be speaking to all the staff tomorrow, showing them the review, and letting them know that this attitude is clearly not acceptable. Please tell your husband that the next time he pops in, his next two salmon and cream cheese bagels are on us!
