The spacious and stylish Bistro restaurant is open throughout the day, Monday to Saturday where our friendly and attentive staff promises to make every occasion special! It's an ideal opportunity to catch up with friends over a fair-trade coffee and tempt
Ate here prior to us catching the film Peterloo. Verdict? Lovely staff, it does not stint on the size of the portions and the prices are very competitive. My Stornoway black pudding starter was delicious. My fish goujons were hot and crisp although a tad on the dry side but that's me nit picking. Other members of the party had crab and salmon fish cakes, a starter by the way but sufficient as a main and voted lovely. Others had the burger which was very good as was the stroganoff. If we plan to visit the Brunton again we'd certainly consider eating there. Can really recommend.Hello AustinFirstly apologies for the late response, for some reason I was blocked from respondingon trip advisor, however, I'm up and running again. Many thanks for taking the time to share your comments, I shall share with both our chefs andthe front of house team.We look forward to welcoming you back in the future, can I suggest that you reserve your tablein advance to avoid disappointment. When we have two shows on, one in the theatre and the other in venue one, we find that we are fully booked really quickly.Kind regardsZandra Borthwick

First time my friend and I have visited here, the breakfast was delicious, and the staff were very friendly. It was busy when we got there but the staff dealt with everyone quickly and very efficiently. Lovely place meals not too expensive. We will go back and try lunch.

The Pennypit Cafe has recently been taken over with new staff and is already proving a great benefit to the Pennypit Centre. The Menu is very varied and includes Breakfast, Lunch and also a Kids Menu. Choices include a full Scottish Breakfast, filled rolls, Beef Burger and Macaroni Cheese, all served by very pleasant and helpful staff. I would highly recommend this new Cafe.

Modern and spacious cafe with lovely views of the garden. Friendly staff and a good selection of food and drink. Our quiche and panini were really nice and our coffees were good (and not too hot, as is often the case). Nice gallery with Bellamyâs work and great little craft shops. A great place to spend a few hours.
If you are a Fish Supper lover, this is the best ever. We visit only occasionally as it is a bit too far from home and we have to have a car meal rather than transport it home. The fish is huge and cooked as you wait, the chip portion is huge and we find that one supper between two is more than sufficient. At a cost of £7 - pretty good going. We are originally Panners and Alandas is now on the site of where Antonellis used to be not at The Camps - we moved away many years ago but do make the trip back to enjoy the freshly cooked Fish. One of these days we'll take the plunge and try some of the salted toffee ice cream available.

Popped in for a late lunch and it was lovely! Lots of the food sold due to the time but good that they obviously cook fresh. I had macaroni and my husband steak pie, both very generous portions and lovely home cooked flavour. Lots of pensioners in as they have 2 special (amazing) deals for them!! Will return and prices reasonable too. Good to support a small local business.

My wife and I took a 26 bus from Edinburgh to Tranent, where her paternal grandmother used to live. Not knowing what to expect in the way of lunch, we found this cafe and decided to have scones and coffee. However, I was tempted by some of the Mediterranean influenced items on the menu and settled for moussaka. So glad I did, as it was obviously home-made and gave a generous portion of mince and avocado, topped with cheese - delicious. My wife enjoyed her scones, and the coffees were very good. Service was friendly and reasonably quick, given the place was packed with local people - always a good sign. Highly recommended.

Small café serving homemade food from breakfast, soups, lasagne, toasties, baked potatoes pies and cake!
In Musselburgh with my 20 year old son today and we were starving and this wonderful cafe was first place we came across so nipped in...so glad we did. We both had soup and a toastie with a soft drink then I ordered tea and the carrot and walnut cake(love a homemade cake) which was soo delicious and fresh. Staff were wonderful and looks like the type of cafe you would want to work in. Cafe was full and everyone in there were all relaxed and really enjoyed themselves as lovely welcoming feel about the place. If back in Musselburgh I wil definitely be back. Prices were really good...very impressed.
