Alexandra Coffee shop is a small cafe opposite the towns museum. The dining area is small but very clean. The staff are very nice and the food they serve was very nice. Service is swift. We tried the soups they had on offer and sampled the cakes. All very tasty and nice and hot.

Stopped off in Stranraer en route to Port Patrick for breakfast, we went into Fig and Olive , on TripAdvisor review said they were dog friendly...,sorry no dog policy,,there was one customer in this establishment, another couple with a dog was also refused, four customers turned away, the staff were lovely but explained there is no dog friendly cafeâs in Stranraer , you can sit and eat outside but not inside. The one exception Custom House who were not serving breakfast, but if we waited we could eat there for lunch .Welcome to Scottish hospitality, when will small towns wake up and realise the loss of revenue, more people are traveling with dogs and establishments need to move with the times .

This is an absolute little gem. You can have the basic bacon butty to amazing daily specials. Carolyne made a savoury lobster crepe for my husband which he declared was better than any he had had anywhere. The prices are very reasonable and this really is service with a smile - along with a biscuit for the dog. Highly recommended.
