This is a Portland classic. Located in an old neighborhood pharmacy, Zells has been cranking out wonderful food for years. Expect a wait on Saturday and Sunday, but, as locals, we knew we could stroll right in at 10am on a weekday. Perfect hang town fry, perfect salmon and (wonderful) veggies. Free scones. The server was friendly. Check out the chalkboard for the specials. Good coffee. We would go here more but the wait, though worth it, is a bit much. A+

Came here with my wife for my birthday brunch at 10:30 on a Tuesday morning. Place was packed, but we found open seating at the bar. Probably the most Portland place Iâve ever been. More tattoos & beards per square foot than anywhere else in town. Everyone working was very nice & chill & service was quick. I had a Bloody Mary with the candied bacon & my wife had a blood orange mimosa, both were great. She ordered the Spicoli scramble & I had Brianâs hash, which was pretty good, but could have had more sausage in it & Iâm not the biggest fan of the frozen shredded hash browns. Will definitely be back & try something different.

3 of us went for Sunday brunch. Had a long wait to get a table but worth the wait. The food was freshly cooked and delicious, sausage gravy and hash browns were standout. The service is very efficient and obviously a very popular place for breakfast, brunch and lunch. Bring a BIG appetite, the portions are huge.

Needed a cheap and easy lunch in the pearl and picked this based on TripAdvisor. My overall review would be itâs really good but not out of his world. Nice old diner vibe, really excellent service. The food was good without being extraordinary. But then itâs a diner, so maybe its my expectations that needed to be more carefully set. I need to go back and try the fried egg sandwich. Thatâs sounds too good to miss.

In a four day visit, we went to Bijou twice for breakfast. My wife tends to go the traditional eggs and bacon route. Here, she added a fresh-baked biscuit and was pleased. I went for more innovative breakfasts, like the cauliflower and Kale has one day and a sweet potato based hash the second day, with two fried eggs over easy both days. Spectacular, though I was tempted by the pancakes that I never tried. And it was well situation part way between our hotel and the convention center. Strongly recommended.

On Hayden Island, thereâs something wonderful besides bridges and boats floating in the water: the Island Cafe. Our vibrant decor and lively team will quickly transport you from Portland to paradise. And our open dining room overlooks the marina and is fi
We stopped by this restaurant for dinner on our way into Portland. It is on an island and the restaurant is floating on a dock. There was a wait but they had seating for those who were waiting and it was a great place to enjoy the fresh air after a long drive. We enjoyed watching the geese and ducks swimming around the marina and the boats coming and going.Once we were seated our waitress was prompt and friendly. She answered our questions about menu items and did a great job of making sure we had everything we needed. Our family of four ordered a variety of items including a Hawaiian burger, fish and chips, fish tacos, and a lobster roll. All items were fresh and delicious. The portions were plentiful. We also took a couple slices of key lime pie to our hotel to eat later. The waitress had packaged everything in containers so the whipped cream and limes would not melt on the way. Definitely recommend! We couldn't be happier that you and the family were able to enjoy a little bit of everything off our menu! When you're traveling, sometimes the best moments are enjoying the simple moments by the water, watching the geese go by as you enjoy a great meal with those you love. We were more than happy to answer all your questions and make sure you got exactly what you were craving. If you ever find yourselves in Portland again, we'd love to have you back for another memorable meal with the family. Take care, Island Cafe Team

Came here for breakfast and was amazed. Had the special with eggs, goat cheese, andouille sausage, and peppers. All this deliciousness on top of a grit cake. Wow! We also shared the strawberry shortcake biscuit with fresh Oregon strawberries and a light mint syrup sauce. Coffee is self service and like all things Oregon the "regular" coffee is wonderful. Open air atmosphere with inside and outside seating options. Cute neighborhood with lots of locals eating here.

We were in the downtown area looking for an interesting brunch spot and Cheryl's sort of called out to us from across the street. When we went in we found a very welcoming host who literally squeezed us in to a spot so we wouldn't have to wait. There was a great vibe - like everyone was really happy to be in this space. The menu is extensive and the food was good and plentiful. Great spot!!
