Was on trip down to Portaferry this morning and fancied a bit of breakfast. Found the Yard and was really pleased with our choices, the breakfast we all had was really fresh and well cooked. The breakfast deal is amazing value for money, staff were fantastic.Highly recommend if looking for a breakfast in the area.

A large group of us had beakfast in this outstanding location. Fabulous. Food perfectly cooked, service excellent and views that would raise anyone's spirits. At the next table were residents who told us that Barholm is one of the best places to stay in Portaferry - rooms with sea views at a low cost. Add in the good food and what more could anyone want?

This is a lovely delicatessen cum coffee shop, situated adjacent to the gates of the historical Killyleagh Castle. Never empty, always great food - and healthy!
lunched here in rotten weather and while everything outside was in black & white, it was a Technicolor dream inside.Bijou perfection , wonderful food that is almost too pretty to eat with great coffee. I can recommend everything, lovely people too with excellent service. Just the thing to turn a rainy day into summer sunshine !

My family and I eat here regularly (along with half the county!) as their range of fresh, delicious New York deli-style healthy meals have no real competition when it comes to taste, presentation, healthiness and sheer enjoyability in the Downpatrick area. That said, if its a fry, burger or goujons you prefer this place is not for you. The atmosphere is always buzzing and the staff are a real asset - charming, helpful and attentive despite the warm busyness that is the hallmark of successful eateries everywhere. The steep stairs from the street might be a little off-putting for the less mobile but the rewards are worth the climb. Personal favourites include the Buy-one-get-one-Brie and the Prawn Club. The home-made Banoffee Pie is deadly too. The extensive menu makes ditherers of us every visit. Never disappoints.
