This is the second time that Iâve stopped off here on the drive up to Scotland, and both times Iâve been impressed. The place is very quaint, has looked clean and tidy both times, and has friendly, welcoming staff. I stopped for lunch this time and had a burger, chips and coleslaw. The food took no time at all to arrive on my table, and looked and tasted great â itâs also very reasonably priced. I find that other eateries along the A66 charge far too much for their food. This is fast becoming one of my favourite places to stop off on the long drive north.Great news...glad we are providing consistancy in our service...we do try! Good to know you enjoyed your visit and will be back thanks

Fellbites cafe restaurant is situated in the centre of Glenridding serving hot and cold snacks, yummy cakes, scones, tea and coffee throughout the day. From Wednesday through to Sunday an evening menu is available serving locally sourced produce.
This time I was in here for a light lunch with my dad, who lives in the area, and Fellbites did us proud. He had a delicious crayfish and mayo sandwich combo, with a generous side salad and fresh cole slaw; I went for an equally delicious spicy lentil soup with brown bread, and we both had drinks to go with - a cider (unusually) for my dad and a sparkling water for me. Friendly and extremely quick service and really tasty food, at a reasonable price and in comfortable surroundings, right in the centre of one of the most attractive villages in the Lakes. What more can you ask for?

Nice staff , food took quite along time to arrive for a soup and sandwich, sandwichâs were very nice but the soup was very disappointing, it didnât taste of anything just very watery. We both had a cup of tea which was an amazing brew. Thank you for your review. We welcome them good and bad, I was on my day off yesterday when you were in. They did mention a complaint was made about the soup. I can only apologise and hope that you will come back and try us again.

Cafe Oswald's serves up a Cumbrian inspired menu of Breakfasts and lunches using quality produce from Cranstons Cumbrian Food Hall.
I was told about this place before i left Glasgow and i definitely thought it was worth a visit on the way back south. I wasn't disappointed either.Jacket Spud with chill, coleslaw and salad was very tasty and a reasonable price. Service with a smile and didn't wait long at all....I will be back.Only shortfall was a leak in the gents toilets which had flooded the floor. Also visited the Cumbrian Food Hall downstairs and wasn't disappointed their either!

Tried here for lunch. Reasonable selection of dishes to choose from on the menu. The hot chocolate with cream and marshmallows was lovely. Food was lovely well cooked and nicely presented. Staff were attentive helpful and welcoming. Pleasant surrounding clean light and airy. Will be going again when next in Penrith.

As we passed through the Arcade whilst out shopping this morning we came across The Lemon Tree. We decided to pop in for some refreshments. We were given a warm welcome and found a table to be seated at. Table service, the kids ordered milkshakes all three different flavours- We were advised this was no problem. Chocolate, Strawberry and Gingerbread flavours along with two latte. They offer a good, varied menu something we will definitely partake in if we visit again. Worth a visit.

Delicious home cooked meals using locally sourced quality ingredients, daily changing specials, all day breakfasts, fresh home-baked scones, cakes and teacakes, sweet treats, milkshakes, fruit smoothies, and the very best Lavazza coffee.
We were really glad that we just managed to find a table on a busy Friday lunch time, as the food was very good. Portion sizes good and quality excellent. Service was good but a bit slow due to the amount of folk ordering at the same time but it was definitely worth the small delay.
