Mediterranean style cafe, offering gyros, grilled sandwiches, a variety of salads, and desserts. A full espresso bar is provided, including Greek and Arabic coffees and teas.
Started with the Lemon Chicken Soup and hot bread, absolutely delicious, then a chicken pita, other than a couple of large pieces of dark meat chicken that had gotten hard and chewy the meal was flawless. On ordering tea I received a mug that was --huge-- like a mason jar with a handle, enough tea for a meal and then some. Two thumbs up on this alone! This is one highly satisfied customer! Thank you!
Some hunters in Valdez told us this was a good place to eat and watch Dall Sheep. They didn't know the name but knew the mile marker. We had wonderful sandwiches for lunch and were very impressed by the construction of the restaurant which was personally built by the owner. Four sheep were also grazing on the mountainside as promised. After lunch we drove on to Palmer and saw magnificent scenery all the way as well as a moose very near the road.

A down-home morning hang-out for the locals provides a solid breakfast at good value. While I stuck with the more traditional offerings of eggs and potatoes (the hash browns with optional onions and peppers are great!), you might try their reindeer sausage. Rush hours on the weekends can get crowded, and wait staff were stretched thin. But all were pleasant and friendly. We returned 3 mornings of our 5-day stay.

The cabins are immaculately clean, larger than expected and very cozy. Liz is wonderful, just a phone call away to recommend good restaurants, places to visit, etc. Everything is kind of tucked into a corner, but within a 30 minute drive of all the fun things to see. Iâm definitely coming back with my kids. This has been an amazing first time Alaskan experience for me!
