They have home made gourmet donuts. I had the smores and it was divine. The topping was marshmallow fluff that had been browned just right. I'm drooling thinking about it. There is the maple candied bacon, oh my. There are other pastries but I couldn't decide on what I wanted. It all really looked so lovely. You really just have to stop in and try them all. They have coffees and sandwiches too. That is if you can get past the pastry counter.

The food was very good and the restaurant reminded me of an old time diner. But it was hot inside the building. I had to wait for a table which was okay and i was offered a drink while i waited but I felt sorry for the staff. I had the country ham and eggs and it was HUGE. I couldn't eat half of the ham. I had to take it home with me.

Local diner with Bfast/Lunch anytime. Love the open window views and the small personal feel even though not a lot of seating . morning stop had people waiting. Most booths only hold two people. But have extra chairs to pull up. spaces at counter also. bfast of eggs, bacon, pecan waffle .50 extra, onions in hashbrowns .50 extra but value priced items offered..coffee delicious! They keep the refills coming. Wanted to get a patty melt so will have to stop by again at lunch or dinner!

I want to like Smallcakes, I really do! However, they seem to be suffering from the same thing a lot of other cupcakes are suffering from, and that's the habit of WAY TOO MUCH FROSTING. The cupcakes themselves are relatively moist (unlike the OTHER cupcake shop in Huntsville), but there's still way too much frosting. Also, and maybe this is really superficial of me, but the store itself could really use some work. Every time I've visited, it's felt like the store isn't trying very hard to be inviting. It feels a bit empty and strange.
