We are a small family run Restaurant, Café and Deli situated on the main street in Oughterard serving homemade meals, cakes and breads using Fresh, Seasonal, Locally Sourced Produce! Wines and local beers too! Serving Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner. Full Eve
Long story short we missed our opportunity to get Connemara smoked fish direct from the source today during our looping drive through Connemara. As we were famished from our dayâs adventures, and wanted to celebrate with a grand meal, we looked up the highest rated restaurants in Oughterand. Our first pick was Powers, which was full, so we settled on Greenway. I need to state that while Iâm sure Powers Iâd good, Greenway was SPECTACULAR! First, it had features that provided the fish we so desired, which truly is the best smoked fish Iâve ever had, and, if these entrees are indicative of what else they serve, easily sets Greenway as the towns best. We even indulged in dessert, which capped off a magnificent meal.

On my visit Oughterard I was spoiled for choice of where to eat. A beautiful little village bustling with life. Having parked my car fortunately be side Camp Street Cafe we went in to a cosy cafe and were met by a friendly face. First off food was as the sign said the best fish and chip and they were not joking but the staff were amazing and if you are lucky to meet Dessie all the better but don't worry he'll make himself known talk the legs off you and play you a tune on his fiddle what more could you ask for. Give it a go. Don't ask for chicken and why would you chicken is bland the best of times he doesn't do chicken. His pizzas are amazing too as is the lemon cheese cake and chocolate cake. Oh the coffee is good to and great value for money Go on pay them a visit I promise you won't be disappointed.
The tearoom has a friendly and cosy ambience of where you can meet friends or family while enjoying your freshly brewed coffees or teas and grab some homemade cakes, pastries, breads, sandwiches and salads.
Itâs worth the walk to find this new, modern café serving appetising cakes, coffee and sandwiches. Go past Mr Keoghâs emporium on Main Street and keep going, past the church almost to the end of the road. I had the chocolate and orange cake which was very fudgy and delicious. The free biscuit that comes with it is a punchy ginger knob, instead of the usual standard variety. The small shop opposite stocks a range of clothing and jewellery.
