This is a smaller establishment that does allow reservations. We were seated promptly and our server, Andi was with us in minutes to get is some drinks and explain the menu. You can BYO drinks as well. There are a lot of vegan and gluten free options to choose from. The food was great and the service from Andi was even better. A little pricey but worth it.

Becky's is the prototypical local/neighborhood eatery. We arrived for our first visit just before 11am, when breakfast is no longer available. My companion and I each had a delicious breakfast sandwich (mine was the signature "Becky), which we each enjoyed immensely. On the wall by our table were memorabilia and old newspaper articles from the '50s, when Becky's dad was a member of the old Philadelphia Warriors basketball team (now the Golden State Warriors). Very cool! My only disappointment is that Becky's closes after lunch in mid-afternoon. But next time I'm on State Street at lunchtime, I will check out the lunch fare that others have raved about!
There is a woman here that makes the best crepes Iâve had outside of Paris. There are sweet or savory ones, along with a selection of other sandwiches and bakery items like madeleines, macarons and other assorted items. Thereâs also a âmarketâ area where you can buy cheese and some other items. We love this place and their outdoor shaded seating area!
Where to eat Asian food in Newtown: The Best Restaurants and Bars
We had a lovely dinner in Newtown and decided to go to Starbucks for coffee. We do not live in the area, but were visiting. The guys went first, got coffee, sat in comfy chairs and talked. The women (that would be my friend and I) walked around a bit before meeting the guys. Needing a restroom, as happens, my friend and I expected a nice, clean experience at Starbucks. No!! Yuck!! It was awful. There were two restrooms. One had no toilet paper, there was water (I hope) all over the floor, there was crumpled paper all over the floor and wet paper on the toilet seat. The second bathroom had a door that had locking issues and was not in much better shape.I thought it prudent to let the manager know. There was a shift manager and she was listening politely and apologizing when a young man interrupted. To say he was defensive would be an understatement. He said the bathrooms were cleaned 45 minutes ago and when I asked why no toilet paper said it must have been overlooked. What?? How do you overlook a totally empty toilet paper holder. Considering the state of the bathroom, I wonder about this store's definition of clean. Another customer in the store heard us and told us they hadn't been back for months due to the lack of cleanliness in general. The couple even pointed out dirt on a display that was still there from the last time they came to the store. Here is the kicker - the defensive young man actually told me that if the bathrooms were dirty it was the local townspeople to blame. Yes, he said that. And then he went on to tell me that the employee restroom was clean. It seems he was saying that the employees don't make messes, but the townspeople are a messy group. There is more, but this gives you an idea of what happened. The actions of that young man totally obliterated the shift manager's appropriate response. She seemed truly concerned. One can only hope the owner of this Starbucks cleans up his or her act. Literally.
