If you are familiar with the First Watch chain, then you already know that they believe in avocados, ancient grains and cage free chickens. So, you also should expect to pay more than the breakfast place down the street. But, if you're unfamiliar, read on.. First watch has light background music playing and on quieter (weekday) mornings, a peaceful atmosphere. Something to try at least once is their "million dollar bacon". When I was about eight years old I would occasionally dip my bacon or link sausage into maple syrup. I was sure I had invented a true delight for mankind. Well, First Watch has made maple syrup cooked bacon a speciality. And it's great.

The interior is very nice and the service was fine. I was there mid week just after opening and it was not at all busy so service was prompt. Coffee is excellent. Ordered the Classic breakfast - eggs, hashbrowns, sausage and toast. Everything was just a little bit over cooked but the sausage was so crisp it was difficult to cut. Waitress (owner) had another patty cooked soft but advised me that most customers like it crisp??!! The flavor was great. I understand they make it in house. Eggs were a bit past medium and hashbrowns were also a little too crisp for me. It seems that is just the cooks method so it would be wise to ask for items a little less done. It was an average breakfast but understand you are paying about $1.50 to $2.00 on breakfast for the ambiance. You can get the exact same meal at Winstead's for quite a bit less.

Stopped in for some bread bowl broccoli cheddar sons. Staff was nice. Soup was great. Not a lot of soup but good on a cold day. Will return. See pics

5. Filling Station Coffee

If you're looking for good quality coffee and fresh juice, or a place to meet your friends for a visit, then the Filling Station is a nice and quieter alternative to a bustling coffee shop. The service is good, employees are attentive and friendly, and the coffee and juice bar is high quality. I thought the price for the breakfast burritos was too high, given how small they are. And the although it was very tasty (once it cooled down enough to handle), it must have been nuked in a microwave because there is no way on God's green earth that the temperature could have been achieved by natural heat alone. So, for coffee, do come! For value and hunger-satisfaction (for breakfast burritos), probably not.
