We regularly visit for breakfast but it was our first lunchtime soirée! The cafe was very patient when we waited 20 minutes for another person to join us.The burger was packed full of flavour and looked very different in a black bun. All day breakfast was spot on too. We buy the produce from the farm shop, you will not find better steak from anywhere else. The fillet steak melts in your mouth, but the flavour of everything we have tried is exceptional and we wonât buy meat from anywhere else.Itâs reasonably priced, but when you factor in the quality....it cannot be beaten! We cannot praise March House Farm enough. Itâs great to have an independent farm shop and cafe that offers this quality and service. We pop up the road and get super fresh milk from the Vine Farm vending machine in Great Dalby too.

Just off the A606. Look for the comedy Bison at the gate!!Family, cosy feel. Dine in or takeaway. Wood burning stove in lounge type room, going through to light conservatory and also outdoor seating available. Local good quality produce served. All day breakfast £7.95. Very enjoyable. Only one thing I would say to make your place even better.... please serve better coffee. But will definitely be coming back.

This quaint little coffee shop and delhi is set in the equally quaint village of Long Clawson in the heart of The Vale of Belvoir about 7 miles from Melton Mowbray. We highly recommend it. It has a great choice of menu all cooked fresh to order. It also has a great range of homemade cakes and pastries and sell their renowned meat pies family size ready to go in the oven also made fresh daily. We are regular visitors their lunch served in a yorkshire pudding and the localky made burgers are firm favourites. We stopped at the local butchers on our way home and bought burgers for the freezer. The only thing we would question with the local butcher so close why are his sausages not on your menu? They are the only negative. It is difficult to recommend their best dish, but the ploughmans is well worth trying. Well long clawson is apparently the home of cheese.Thank you for your great review, just wanted to say the meat pies arenât made fresh daily, but made in a small batch and then frozen, hence why they are available from the freezer, if theyâre in the fridge however your lucky enough to purchase one on the day they have been made. The previous owner did initially use the sausages from the butcher but found it wasnât cost effective unfortunately, so she sourced a sausage from our catering suppliers (Lincolnshire sausage) which I have continued to use to this day (10 years later) iâm A great believer in if itâs not broken donât fix it) iâm glad you enjoy our menu and we have recently added a few new things, ie veggie burger, butter bean and spinach goulash and a sweet potato and chickpea chilli.

The home of fresh cooked food. Probably the best breakfast in Melton Mowbray. Vegetarian, Vegan and Gluten Free options available.
We decided to try the Elms because we'd seen it has new owners and wondered if things had changed. They have, but not in a bad way, at least as far as breakfast is concerned. The interior has changed, with new tables and chairs and no tablecloths. Nice and fresh-looking, no complaints there. I had the feeling that there may be a slightly reduced capacity, but that might just be the way the tables are arranged. The place was full, but it was a Saturday morning and that's to be expected. The breakfast choice is good, the 'big' breakfast coming with toast/bread and tea/coffee included. We added black pudding and ended up with a sizeable portion for a good price. The food was well cooked and the ingredients reasonable quality (though like a previous reviewer, I found the sausages rather disappointing).Overall, we had a decent breakfast and will be returning.

Stopped here for lunch 'on spec' whilst passing through the town as it was handy for where we had parked the car. Order (two baked tatties) was taken promptly and served with a side salad. Good sized potatoes and lots of filling. Nice cuppa too.

Stopped by Nigelâs Cafe late one afternoon whilst visiting Melton Mowbray. Owner and cafe very welcoming, dog friendly so our little man was happy! Would recommend the Melton Mowbray Pie Platter Taster which includes local Pork Pie and Stilton. Excellent way to spend an hour or two in the afternoon.

A traditional vintage tearoom offering a range of speciality teas, coffees and drinks. Known for our afternoon teas, platters and cakes, we also offer a range of other food options that promote local businesses such as Dickinson and Morris and Long Clawso
This place was listed in a Tea Guild book of places for afternoon tea, so I feared it would be pricey and crowded when I headed there for lunch. Thankfully, it was neither! Perhaps since it was midday, or perhaps since it's somewhat hidden up a staircase from the main street - either way, I was surprised and puzzled why this excellent place was not bursting at the seams, because I thoroughly enjoyed my 'Melton Selection' lunch. The decor is lovely, full of pretty china and cute touches. I was able to sit by a window, taking in the sunshine and people-watching below. The food was delicious, and the service was excellent. I only wish I could go back to sample one of their intriguing sounding cream teas!Hi Sarah,Thanks so much for your lovely review. It's always nice to receive feedback from people, especially non-locals.I'm happy that you found us.

Little rustic coffee shop-cafe-restaurant just off the main square. Mixture of English and Italian breakfast options were good and coffee quality was nice. Disappointing service though waiting 20mins for 3/6 meals to not be available and had to reorder and having to eat separately once they'd been cooked. Hopefully a one-off but quaint retreat from the rain ended up a bit frustrating
