Delicious homemade food is available 364 days of the year at The Kaka Cafe at Pukaha. You can find us perched above the Pukaha forest canopy overlooking the takahe and beside the cheeky wild kaka - there is no cafe view like it anywhere in the world! We a
The walk through cool native bush was so relaxing and to see our native birds, especially the endangered species was wonderful. Learning about the efforts made to save them was interesting and reassuring to hear that great work is being done and new information is being sought all the time. Thanks for writing a review of Pukaha Mount Bruce - starting with the movie is a great idea as it does give a really good overview of all the conservation work we are doing here at Pukaha.

Real food for real people at real prices. The Lake House Masterton is a family style, family run cafe & restaurant situated in Queen Elizabeth Park. We focus on making as much food in house, from sauces, dressings and bread to the ice cream and infused oi
Lovely setting, lovely food & not expensive. Nice interior decor, very friendly & efficient staff. The caramel slice we had after lunch was divine & we bought another to take home. Thoroughly recommended, is definitely the best cafe in Masterton.

Great place for a coffee and a slice on a cold afternoon. Not many options on Saturday afternoon and pleased with our choice to call into Columbus. Friendly staff, good coffee, yummy slices. Nice for a pit stop.

We had lunch here and were surprised at how lovely the food and coffees were as the cafe is a little old and rundown. We had a great coffee and wonderful milkshakes for the children and their scones were fresh and yummy.Service was with a smile..recommend.

Visited for lunch/tea - we were spoilt for choice with excellent cakes, sandwiches and plenty of drinks to choose from. Great brownies with choice of cream or yogurt! Good coffe in different sized cups - couldnât manage a bowl so opted for a large cappuccino.

We have tried this cafe on previous visits to Masterton and like the variety of counter food on offer. Tried and true standard items such as sandwiches, pies, and slices - nothing flash but fine for a quick lunch. Personally, I'd like the cafe to offer a variety of salads or healthier options for those who want something a little lighter. Recommend as a good coffee stop on your next visit into the city.

This place is not much to look out, outside or inside. it is a modest, neighborhood diner, with simple tables and chairs on hardwood floor. There are a few tables against the wall, where you sit on a couch. There is a big counter in the middle of the dining area where you place the order for food and beverage. If you insist, a waitstaff will come to the table to take your order, but it doesn't seem to be the routine. There are several blackboards behind the counter, listing the food being offered that day, as well as the beverages, including the various types of coffee and tea. Once the food appears, you are pleasantly surprised by the quality, the seasoning and the generous portions. We had two orders of calamari, perfectly prepared; an order of Lamb's Fry, also delicious, a burger, a steak and a fish of the day. The wines by the glass were of modest quality, but not unpleasant. Coffee was very good. Service was amateurish, but friendly. Prices were modest, considering the quality and quantity.

Our recent brunch at Don Luciano was our second visit and as always was exceptional. Masterton is lucky to have Don Luciano. Delicious food, fantastic coffee and lovely friendly staff. This is a must visit when in the Wairarapa.
