Things to do in Lysekil
En butik med praliner, marsipan mm som är utöver det vanliga. Kaffe med bakverk finns att tillgå och intages i trädgården medan man funderar på vad som skall inköpas.Bör absolut besökas. Samma butik finns även i Stockholm och Trosa.
I have lived in the area almost all my life and have missed this wellkept secrete all those years! Marsipanladan is a part of "Kutterkonfekt". The company have stores in Stockholm, Trosa and outside Fiskebäckskil. They make all their stuff with natural ingredients and have their own bakery. Please note that tha prices are rather high, but the athmosphere is really worth it! Their liqorice hot chocholate is something you should not miss! They does not serv food, but is more like a cafe with bakery and a small store filled with chocholate and marzipan. They have glutenfree pastry. The Marsipanlada is not easy to find, but drive towards Fiskebäckskil and you have it on your left side. It is an old barn.
Where to eat Scandinavian food in Lysekil: The Best Restaurants and Bars
We were visiting on a Saturday night towards the end of the short Swedish summer season. As we arrived the restaurant was full and we had not booked. However after a beer in the bar we got a table from the friendly staff. We had the fish and pickled herring buffet followed by the fish soup. Both were excellent with a good selection of herrings and salmon on the buffet. The soup came with crusty warm bread and an aioli. The sea surrounds the site with a Marina next door. The backdrop is the pink granite which Lysekil is famous for and you can clearly see where it was cut out of the rock by the road on the way down to the restaurant. Lots of visitors come from the marina and also the site for mobile homes next door. This restaurant also has an outdoor area with artificial grass, swinging chairs for the children and beach chairs to relax with a beer on a warm evening. It is a concept all very well thought through. We will be back.
I spent one week in this city called Lysekil.Good and very fresh seafood available at restaurants and by the seafood market called "Bengts fisk". There are much to do for the family like visiting the Aquarium "Havets hus", rent a tenniscourt, just stroll and enjoy the great view and nature, play minigolf, swimming by the beach, diving (scubadiving rental is avalible), and much more. Should best be visited in July at the Lysekil-festival with live music and other happenings. Worth the visit.

We stopped for lunch at this Café during a tour with our motorcycle club. My boyfriend and I decided to share two plates: 4 sorters sill på planka (4 kinds of marinated herring with freshly baked bread, cheese and new potatoes) and pocherad torskrygg med citronsås (boiled cod with lemon sauce, harricot verts, broccoli, new potatoes and fresh shrimps). It was delicious, much higher quality than we expected. The portion was huge for Swedish style. And the view was adorable!Do not miss this lovely place next time you visit Lysekil!
