Had a weekend morning breakfast here. All signs were promising. Great location, friendly staff, dog friendly, good looking food on social media. I ordered the bacon and egg roll and a coffee. The coffee was ok, but sadly, the bacon and egg roll missed the mark. Call me old fashioned, but a fresh, light roll with egg, properly cooked bacon and BBQ sauce is all that's needed. Their version was served on a stodgey brioche roll, with some mayo type sauce. It lacked all the fundamentals for me, and ended up being a stale, tasteless affair, which I couldn't bring myself to finish, despite its modest size. I thoughts I'd extend the benifit of the doubt and order a take away croissant on the way out. This only confirmed that they were taking the piss. This thing was as stale as a week old supermarket bought pastry, and was like chewing on a dried up shoe. Two bites and it ended up in the bin at the park across the street. It was a real shame, sorry to reportHi Zane,Thankyou for your feedback. We are really sorry you had a bad experience. We are proud of our famous bacon and egg rolls and fresh pastries. Unfortunately in your case the standard was not one that you were expecting. All of our pastries, breads and meals are made fresh daily on the premises by a Chef and Pastry Chef. If you had of brought this to our attention whilst dining at the café, we would have ensured that we would have rectified the issue straight away. The Pig & Pastry prides itself on fresh food and great service and we would like to invite you to return to the Café to give us another go. When you return and mention your name to the Manager, we would like to offer you a complimentary bacon and egg roll, made to your liking to convince you that this would have been a one off issue. We value your feedback and will make your next visit pleasurable.Best Regards, The Pig & Pastry

Iâve been going to Black Toast for years and the service has gone really down hill. A few weeks back, one server seemed straight out of Home and Away and wasnât really sure how to actually take orders or serve. When trying to pay up front, the young man treated me like I was stealing and yelled to come back to pay near the service counter. I can assure you that I wasnât. With cash in hand and at the ripe old age of 39, itâs not in my best interest to steal from my community. In the past, Iâve never had a problem paying up front when the servers are busy. Another thing Iâve noticed is when I go to Black Toast as a solo patron, it seems quite frowned upon. I always feel like they quickly want to rush me out the door. There is a very large bench that can be shared by large groups or solo patrons. It was only 9am when I was there and hardly busy. Iâm always a fan to support local businesses and leave when things get too crazy at the cafe. Another thing that bothered me is, I had a slight tickle in my throat and had the occasional cough. Instead of the host offering a cup of warm water, it was presented to me and my half bottle and full cup of water was taken from my area. I didn't touch the warm water - itâs not my type of drink and at this point, I knew that it was time to leave.Thereâs so many amazing cafeâs to choose from in Sydney - this was one of them, but sadly itâs time for me to move on. Thank you for the lovely Bacon and Egg sandwiches - they were wonderful.

A lovely sunny corner cafe that is always busy. It has indoor and outdoor seating and is a popular spot with families and kids. The menu has a.good range to please everyone and there are so many delectable cakes to tempt you daily which are made in house. Being a cake fiend I have tried all except the Persian love cake. All are absolutely delicious! The choc hazelnut cake is dense, decadent, moist and rich. The carrot cake is super moist, delicious but a little unusual with chunks of pineapple through it so it may be a hit or miss depending on your like for pineapple. The Greek coconut cake is sooooo moist, delicious & sweet! They also offer a healthier take on this with their coconut raspberry cake which has no added sugar and definitely a lot healthier tasting but equally delicious. The classic cheesecake with fresh strawberries always hits the spot as does the fresh house made scones with jam and cream. I absolutely love their date and apple cake with caramel coconut topping but the last time I got this it didnt seem as fresh and the topping was soggy instead of a more crispy, sweet caramel. The cake also fell apart easily unlike previous times. This was my only disappointment with cake from here. I have also had breakfast here a few times and everything was delicious. Eggs are scrambled well and I really enjoyed the corn fritters. Looking forward to trying the delicious looking lunch menu soon and a redemption round of my cake.

From a previous visit we knew that Sunday breakfast time was a busy choice. Put down our names and waited approx 20 mins but were rewarded with a delicious taste experience. The menu is varied, coffee is excellent, the staff friendly and the vibe is great. Just need to be aware that there are long waits (a) to get a table (and there's no rain shelter for those in the queue) and (b) for food/coffee - are part of the experience.

Delightful flavours and freshness...had the corn fritters recently which were to die for. Has a great vibe, friendly staff, amazing coffee and I look forward to working my way though the entire menu! Well done guys. Oh, and I'm enjoying my jar of Coney Island Sauce on homemade burgers etc.

Used to be a regular favourite cafe. Our last few visits were appalling. Waited 45 min for our food. Was stale and cold when it arrived. Under cooked eggs- yuk. No finesse, and sloppy presentation too. New menu has increased prices significantly but removed the best items. Wonât recommend. Wonât come back.

Although I don't go as often as I wish, every visit to revolver leaves me satisfied. A small cafe with a great setting in the middle of a suburban setting, the menu always has classic and more adventurous options for breakfast or brunch. If you plan to come, be prepared to wait, as this popular cafe is packed most of the times - but the food is worth the wait. Highly recommended!

Kitchen closes at 3pm Monday - Friday & 3:30pm on weekends. Social Brew Cafe - something of an oasis of good food and drinks in Pyrmont. Where, letâs face it, the cafe options arenât as abundant as one would like. Which isnât to say weâd just head there o
We came here for a late breakfast after checking the reviews on TripAdvisor and werenât disappointed. It does get very busy and we booked a table which Iâd recommend. We still had to wait a bit on arrival for our table but the staff were very attentive and we were seated pretty quickly. Food was delicious and came out promptly. The juices are great (particularly the option to have them spiked)and taste fresh. Would definitely return!

This little cafe in Norton Street is great value for money. We visited for an early dinner with our dog and were well looked after on an outside footpath table. The waiter was most obliging in ensuring they could cater for food intolerances and he made us feel very welcome. The meals were not complicated and expertly prepared. It was a treat on a week night when we didn't feel like cooking and on the whole a positive experience.
