Nikos, a family run taverna has been offering good food at reasonable prices for the last 30 years and it has been a favourite of Greeks and local foreigners alike. Our friendly service is renowned for its speed and efficiency and our menu offers a select
It was busy but the staff was friendly and attentive. The beer was cold. The pasta dishes comimg out looked really good and everyone ssemed to be enjoying themselves. The chips (fries) were acceptable. Husband had pork souvalki wasn't bad, but weve had better everywhere else in Greece, including ports and backwater villages. The meat tasted like it had about a day to go before being tossed. And my Pastichio was not edible frankly. Flavorless, bland, tasted like it was made with a mayo based sauce. The garlic bread wasnt edible either. If you've been spoiled by sumptous Greek food, this is not the place for you. I'd stick with gyros and paata, or like the lady next to us, a baked potato! Or just get off the tourist lane and walk uphill and to the south. There we found real Greek food that would be a better choice for the same price

The Bourtzi by the old harbour of Skiathos is a very conspicuous geographical feature. A peninsula, which once had fortifications on it, of which not much can be seen anymore. The Greek word 'Bourtzi' is derived from the Turco-Arabic word 'burc' for tower. In Greece there are about eight Bourtzi known, the most famous by far, being the one by Nauplia. Always small forts on an islet or peninsula close to the shore. When people go to the Bourtzi of Skiathos today, it is mainly to visit the Café there. One sits on folding chairs under umbrellas and Aleppo Pines with views out to the sea, to Evia and to the Skiathos coast. A great time to come here is at sunset. My wife and me liked to pass by here for a pre-dinner drink like an EZA draught beer in a 4dl glass or a glass with stem of their quite good white house wine. Staff was always very friendly. A bit too loud for us was the international background music.

IL POSTO is a new caffe-brunch-bar in the center of Skiathos at the intersection of the two most central pedestrian streets of the island (Papadiamantis & Evangelistria). Here you will find the best coffee on the island as well as all kinds of breakfast,
This is tucked away down a side street but when were visiting. There are great fresh smoothies and fruit juice cocktails available. The porridge breakfast is crowded with fresh fruit and yoghurt and worth a try, as well as the pancakes which are massive. Warning, one pancake with fruit and oats and yoghurt is enough for two.

Nice chill out spot ,on the beach.Food-drinks-face all day long. Fresh salads, greek flavors, many refreshments. Swell is a naval term (commonly Âmute waveÂ, Âswollen sea or ÂrestiaÂ) and is the type of wave that is not caused by the weather conditions at
Day one we paid for our sunbeds and also ate our lunch at Swell. All was good. Guess they were satisfied with our money that day. Day two, we returned and again paid the standard rate for the sunbeds. As we'd had a large breakfast, we returned to our nearby hotel room to just eat some watermelon for lunch, planning on eating at Swell later that afternoon. On our return, before we even had chance to sit down again, we were pounced upon by a member of staff who rudely informed us that the sunbeds we had paid for(!) were only for their customers and that we hadn't eaten lunch there. Very greedy attitude to charge for them then! This is the only time we've experienced such an attitude in 15 years of coming to Greece. It's actually really bad business practice because if we hadn't been treated like this we would probably have eaten at Swell several times during our stay. Put up a sign that you only rent out your sunbeds to your cafe customers to avoid having to be unpleasant to those guests paying to use your sunbeds.Dear Guest, your review was a surprise to us because we don't remember an incident like the one you describe. We have 20 sunbeds and customers who have lunch at us as well as the ones from our hotel always have priority. Also all the friends of Swell, who visit us for the last 27 years, have always priority. We find it unbelievable that Panos or Andreas spoke to you with rudeness. We are well known and not a business that changes name every year to mislead. We are Swell bar.Regarding your comment about greed if we where focused to that we could have added 20 more sunbeds and have our guests crowded.Check your photos and check also the places next to us and you will receive the answer by yourself.By the way all legal bars and reasturants on the beach have the same policy as oursHave a nice remaining summer.

Had eaten here a couple of years ago so thought I would give it another try this time. The staff are as friendly as I remember and the food may be simple but always fresh and tastes good while also being very fairly priced. A lovely cheap and very friendly place to have a light bite to eat
