A blending of several small villages on the southwestern coast created the current incarnation of Kochi (or Cochin), where sunset strolls, sampling fresh fish from seaside vendors and boat rides through the islands just offshore top visitors' to-do lists. Art centers showcase the traditional dance, Kathakali. European influences are seen in the 16th-century Portuguese-built churches and forts, while the mark of early Chinese traders is visible in the unusual fishing nets dotting the shoreline.

We ordered chicken lollipops for two and french fries but after a while the waiter returned to say only one chicken lollipop portion was available so I ordered cheese burger. The chicken lollipops were virtually inedible with more skin than flesh on them and the cheese burger turned out to be a slice of processed cheese in a burger roll with some cucumber no burger at all. Service was OK.

Great location and the building has an interesting history. We came for afternoon tea and cake. Ordered the brownie with ice cream. In the menu it said the brownie was sizzling, assumed this was a hyperbole for warm brownie but they actually brought the brownie out on a sizzler! Obviously this burnt the chocolate and melted the ice cream in seconds. Called the waiter over to say it just tastes like burnt chocolate. Waiter was helpful and replaced it with a warm brownie on a plate with ice cream. Suppose it was our mistake for interpreting the menu wrong but what a mad idea to put chocolate and ice cream on a sizzler..!!

"The Grand Pavilion" At our multi-cuisine restaurant, dine in style on sumptuous Indian, Continental, Chinese or Ethnic fare. The restaurant is legendary for it's authentic Kerala cuisine - in particular, the pearlspot ( Karimeen ) preparations.
Had an excellent vegetarian and non vegetarian meals. The fish curry was very tasty. Very limited side dishes unlike other restaurants. However this places charges exorbitant rate for the fish fry - Rs.650/- for Karimeen and Rs.450/- for Neiymeen. Not worth. Found all people who had enquired about their famous Karimeen Pollichatthu dish shying away from ordering it. Very crowded during lunch hour. The lunch served however was very tasty. Would recommend and if you are not bothered about paying unreasonable price for a fish fry , go ahead and tryit.

Tad overrated if you ask me because the place is small and the service a bit messy - especially the order taking part. The food is decent though

Had coffee and snacks (Salads, toasts, sandwiches) in the spacious restaurant with wooden traditional furniture ( may be the building is a century old) and the not so decorated interiors. The Solar cafe being in the Fort Kochi area where we used to go on weekends from early 80's till mid 90's gave us a nostalgic feel. The restaurant on the first floor near the ferry which is not spoiled by modern decor is the right place to have some coffee or tea with a sandwich or toast, also you can go through the collection of selected books kept for the guests. The service is very friendly and the restaurant is easy to locate.

A visit to Kochi remains incomplete without paying a visit to its iconic Kashi Art Cafe. One of the first art cafes of India, it's unique ambiance and great food are its USP. We went for dinner and had Grilled Chicken Salad and Kashi Special Grilled Chicken with Couscous. Both were yummy and the portion size is good too. Highly recommend.

My wife and I celebrated the birthday of my classmate of some 54 years ago, entirely by chance by having a buffet lunch at this restaurant. I decided on this venue because of our stay at the Marriott Courtyard Hotel, Kochi (which houses this restaurant), but I was not disappointed. They served an entire spread of Kerala authentic cuisine as well as a wide variety of starters, main courses from across both Western and Oriental styles. We delighted in the extra care the staff took to looking after the 3 of us, given it was my classmate's birthday, and the cosy, comfortable and private 'corner' assigned to us meant that we could 'celebrate' joyously and in some elegance, in spite of the restaurant being busy with many business folks who were there to attend seminars or were in transit thru the nearby Kochin airport. It is Onam period in Kerala, the most important festival of the year, and it was wonderful to be able to enjoy so many dishes because of the festival which lasts a week.Dear Guest,Namaskaram from Courtyard by Marriott Kochi Airport!!!Thank you for sharing your feedback and giving us a perfect review. I am glad to hear that, you made us a part to host your classmate's birthday celebration. I am sure our entire hotel staff enjoyed catering to your needs as much as you enjoyed your visit.Thank you once again for dining with us. We would like to have you here again in nearest future.Warm RegardsHarish GopalakrishnanGeneral Manager
