Over 20 different flavours of gorgeous Yorvale and soft serve whippy style ice cream, along side a range of gluten free and vegan ice cream. We also offer delicious speciality milkshakes, hot waffles, smoothies and soft drinks.
We loved our first visit (buying 8 ice creams)! The ice creams were all delicious (rhubarb and mint were our favourites) and the array of toppings was loved by kids and adults alike!Whippy ice cream also went down well. The lady serving us was brilliantly hospitable and the ice creams are very good value. Plenty of seating outside if needed, too. Thank you for the lovely review. Glad you enjoyed your visit. Xx

As the weather was good and there was outdoor seating we stopped by chance. The seating is kerbside at the edge of the castle car park. Some cars coming into the car park but mostly pedestrians wandering past.We had the fresh soup - cauli and cheddar. Piping hot and delicious. I had a ham sandwich as well. Nice thick old fashioned slices of ham. Tasty. The 2 servers were a little rushed as they were busy, but friendly and pleasant. I thought we might have to wait some time but everything arrived fairly promptly.Enjoyable

Went for brunch with my wife today and we ordered eggs etc and coffee including an Americano with cold milk on the side for me. My coffee came, it looked weak but I added milk and tasted. It was very weak so I asked for a stronger one. I was asked if I wanted a double shot in my coffee. To my surprise the Barista added another shot into my already weak coffee. It was horrible. I asked for another stronger coffee. It came along with the Barista who confronted me rudely in public saying he had been making coffee for 13 years and that this new cup wouldnât taste any different. It clearly did and was better. I was astonished then to find I had been changed for a double shot on the bill. What an embarrassing saga for me and my wife. Clearly customer service wasnât on the menu today. Nil points and nil return. Dear IanThank you for taking the trouble to post a review. Myself and my wife own and run the business and it was in fact me who made you your coffee when you visited us. I take considerable pride in the coffee we serve and as the business owner I'm very upset that I have caused you embarrassment and appeared 'rude'. With this in mind I'd like to offer you an explanation along with an unreserved apology. Please could you kindly contact me on 01423 864777 or if you'd prefer me to write to you instead could you let me have your email address.Kind regardsNick Iles

Friendly service from this independent family business and some unusual but tasty menu choices - the brunch stack for example was a neatly assembled and delicious tower of bubble n squeak, black pudding, bacon and poached egg. Large windows to waych the world go by and free WiFi

Christians has now moved from Crimple Hall in pan all to 9 silver street Knaresborough. We look forward to seeing you there
I was a regular customer at Crimple therefore delighted to hear that the café has relocated to Knaresborough - much more convenient for me!I asked for an extra hot coffee as I hate lukewarm drinks. It came lukewarm and was just plonked on the table along with a very dry, tasteless scone. Oh dear - a long way to go to reach Crimple standards.Oh and the flowers on the table sat in very dirty water! Come on Christian get a wiggle on!

A warm welcome awaits you in the Lavender Rooms where you can relax and enjoy a break in an atmosphere full of Olde Worlde Charm.
Passing through Knaresborough and we spotted this place upstairs in the market place. Saw they did afternoon tea for two any time and took a chance..So pleased we did. Lovely staff served us proper Yorkshire afternoon tea. Huge scone (to share, it was that big) and 2 huge wedges of cake - the Victoria Sponge was just perfect! Proper thick ham in my sandwiches and just the right amount of filling in the others. Can't fault the quality/price for this absolutely delightful treat.

A morning stroll with old friends along the riverside on a decidedly autumnal day ended with an early lunch. I noticed a previous reviewer criticised the coffee but there was nothing wrong with ours. I had ham, egg and chips which were top notch and wife had a chicken burger which she really enjoyed. Our friends had toasties and a pot of tea and were well pleased. Service was quick, helpful and cheerful. Another reviewer criticised them for being cash only but obviously too tight to carry a couple of banknotes around with them! Don't they realise prices would have to rise if Riverside did credit cards?

Friendly, family-run cafe on the High Street, in the historic market town of Knaresborough. Famous for our breakfasts and hand-cut skin-on chips, we also serve an excellent range of teas and coffees, as well as the usual cafe fare such as jacket potatoes,
Popped in for a late lunch while visiting Knaresborough. The staff were friendly and efficient and our food was served promptly. I had a delicious bacon, brie and cranberry panini and it came with crisps, a tasty salad (loved the addition of grapes) and a home-made coleslaw, one of the nicest I have had. My husband chose sausage, egg and chips and also enjoyed his meal. The menu is varied, there is something for everyone, and prices are reasonable too. We had no room for cake, unfortunately, as they looked delicious! Highly recommended.Thank you so much for taking the time to give us such a nice review. Do come and see us again!
