Located approximately 25 km south of Cork City on the coast near the Old Head of Kinsale, it sits at the mouth of the River Bandon and had a population of 5,281 at the 2016 census. I do like Kinsale but I find it difficult when so many businesses do not open until 9 or 10am. Old Bank is about the only place to find an early breakfast. They do serve so eggs but we we're very happy with their wide selection of pastries and the coffee. I would certainly visit Old Bank Cafe again.

We called in for lunch on a recent trip to Kinsale. Staff were very welcoming and very efficient in producing lovely open sandwiches on spelt bread. Lovely cup of Barryâs tea to accompany the sandwiches. The cafe features an array of delicious home baking and a wide range of teas and coffees. A great find for us as we had a wonderful view of the boats in the harbour on a sunny day, Definitely worth seeking out when in Kinsale as offers both outdoor and indoor seating, frequented by the locals and good value for money. Historically Kinsale was a major port, a battleground of significance in Irish history and the ill faLusitania sank off the nearby Old Head. Today it is a leading Irish tourist attraction, the Southerly starting point of the Wild Atlantic Way and a renowned gourmet hot spot. The Cosy Cafe is centrally located and serves turbo charged coffee, breakfast, an eclectic brunch, lunch and a truly decedent selection of cakes and pastries. It seems to be always busy, a sure indication that whatever they are doing, there is no need to fix it! For a luxurious yet healthy brunch it is hard to imagine anything bettering a choice of eggs, Benedict, Florentine or Royale, it just hits the button every time, even for the most demanding of foodies. Service is friendly and attentive and the overall ambience is pleasing, yes they've cracked it here and get it eggsactly right every time!
