Karakol (Kyrgyz: Каракол, Qaraqol/Karakol, قاراقول, Kyrgyz pronunciation: [qɑrɑqoɫ]), formerly Przhevalsk, is the fourth largest city in Kyrgyzstan, near the eastern tip of Lake Issyk-Kul in Kyrgyzstan, about 150 kilometres (93 mi) from the Kyrgyzstan-China border and 380 kilometres (240 mi) from the capital Bishkek. It is the administrative capital of Issyk-Kul Region. Its area is 44 square kilometres (17 sq mi), and its resident population was 66,294 in 2009 (both including Pristan'-Przheval'sk). To the north, on highway A363, is Tyup and to the southwest Jeti-Ögüz resort.

We stayed in the yurts at the rear of the cafe for two nights. We decided to have pizza following a day excursion. We were told it wasnt prepared at the cafe but at her Mother's home. It was a long wait and took over 1hr from ordering to arriving but it was worth the wait and it tasted lovely. They even provided a bottled drink to apologise for the delay in cooking the pizza. It has a nice relaxed atmosphere and whilst they didn't have much choice re food and traditional food what we had was cooked well and tasty. Also the yurts were lovely and we would recommend staying here.

Over all the place was very clean and the sitting area was nice.The food was normal and price. The location is by the big buss station. It's near the roundabout when you walk to the center.The owners are really nice. We talked for 20 mints in Kyrgyz about the cafe and tourism. They do not get tourists because they do not speak English. No WiFiThe bathroom is outside and not very nice. I will go back again because the owners are really kind and welcoming.

I have been to Hollywood twice to have a few beers with some friends. It cost 200 SOM to enter and the face control was being enforced..... it's an over priced Kyrgyz night club in Karakol. If you want to have a few beers go to a cafe in the center. I would not advise people to go Hollywood Cafe / Night Club. If your looking to have some night life go to Bishkek and have a much better time.

Great place for shashlik, the house specialty. Went for dinner and the restaurant was completely full. One of the few places serving Shashlik all year round. Only two beers on offer, Arpa and Zhivoye, but it's good Shashlik, so you can't complain. Outdoor space available in warmer weather.

Fantastic spot in the south part of Karakol. They offer plenty of travel information for Karakol and surrounding area. They also have great coffee. Always full of travelers that are great to talk to about where to head next!They also offer food, but we have yet to try it.On Fridays they have Travel Trivia Night where you can win beer!

The restaurant has boards up about what they are doing for the community and how you can help. This is a great idea and we would have liked to return based on this, however, we didn't think much of the coffee, other things on the menu like the milkshakes weren't available and unfortunately because of this we ended up taking our business elsewhere.

We had just finished a tough few weeks in the mountains and were looking for good coffee and food, and what a find at Lighthouse!Came for lunch, stayed for dinner, and returned again the next day. Was just so nice to sit and chill, savoring healthy salads, yummie fried honey chicken and trout... ate our way up and down the menu and enjoyed the super friendly service and relaxed atmosphere on the outside patio.
