As a breakfast restaurant this place seems to be very popular. There's a wide selection of local breakfast cusine which I asked the helpful staff to talk me through. As a westernerI need to ease myself into the idea of spicy chicken and rice for breakfast. Breakfast like a king and dine like a peasant?I don't think that my western choices (not really that wide) warrented the cost so opted for hitting the malls for wider options.

My compliments to their creative choice of using Chinese drums as tabletops in their tatami room, as well as pendent lighting fixtures. The backwall of their tatami room had drumsticks fashioned into the Chinese character, "Drum". The Chinese Calligraphy stencils on the plate glass window is very artistic while shading the glare from the street. But the Caffe Com Miele (MYR10 small cup) had too much sugar to compensate for lack of taste. A pot of Roasted Chinese Tea was MYR12. I ordered a Passionfruit tea expecting freshly brewed cup of hot tea but what came was a chilled can of Taiwanese style sweet green tea for MYR4.50. I wish their Menu was more descriptive in English because I cannot read Chinese! We were about the only customers there on a Tuesday afternoon. The only restroom is Unisex in a very tight cubicle - feels claustrophobic.

We stumbled across this restaurant by accident and thought it looked interesting. It doesn't serve alcohol but that was made up for by the selection of interesting drinks, my favourite being the Grease Monkey - a peanut butter and banana milkshake. It mainly serves steaks and burgers. We visited twice as the first experience was so impressive that we had to go again. Both times we had steaks which were cooked to perfection. They were absolutely delicious and the accompanying vegetables were also well cooked and presented. Both visits were a real treat and I would hesitate to visit again. If you are in Johor I highly recommend it as they were the best two meals we had in our 12 night stay.

We are one of its kind modernist Indian Cuisine located at Johor Bahru, Malaysia under the wings of Holiday Villa Hotel. Come indulge in the taste of spices.
We visited the restaurant in the late afternoon so it was not crowded. The staff attended to us fairly quickly. The briyani was average but the other dishes were good. The buttermilk is a winner! I would say the prices are expensive as they are centrally located in JB.

This cafe is located in an office/industry area. It looks more like an office building than cafe from the outside but once we stepped into the building, we found ourselves stepping into a nature inspired beautiful cafe!We were greeted by a pleasant looking staff the moment we stepped in. She is friendly and professional (the rest of the staff is as well). The cafe opens at 10am (we reached around 9.50am) and there were already people queuing up. The food was good but my favorite is gonna be their signature hotcake which stands up among all the mains we ordered. Coffee was good as well. There are 2 levels in the cafe but not sure if we are allowed to sit at level 2.May return in future. Highly recommended.
Where to eat Indian food in Johor Bahru: The Best Restaurants and Bars

Great little restaurant. The outside and inside are very cute. The service was very pleasant and the food was awesome. My wife had a salmon, poached egg, avocado, pine nuts, pomegranate seeds, etc on bread. It was very different and tasted great. I have a Thai salmon burger with potato wedges. It was very tasty with great textures, and quite spicy. I absolutely loved it. My only two somewhat negative comments would be that we waited a bit for them to take our order upstairs, so ended up going down to put in our order. The other is that the drink prices are a bit on the spendy side and do not align to the quite reasonable prices for the food. I would highly recommend this place and intend to go back.

The place is clean and nice. Workers are friendly. You are allowed to take photos and pet the cat, however, you can't cuddle them. Some cats are grumpy, I guess it might because too many people chasing them.Tricks:. You have to bribe the cat to hangout with you. :)

As The Replacement gets good reviews online, perhaps it was the high expectations that caused me to feel disappointed after eating here. We had brunch on Saturday morning and, while the service was good, the food was only average (in my opinion) and the coffee was not spectacular. The coffee I ended up getting was RM 18, which is actually quite expensive for coffee in JB. Notwithstanding the price, the coffee was nothing special and was also cold when it arrived.
