Reviews on Cafe food in Isle of Lewis, Scotland, United Kingdom. A visit to the Isle of Lewis is like stepping into the pages of a Scottish fairy tale. Everywhere you look, medieval structures remind you of the island’s remarkable history. The legendary Callanish Standing Stones poke up from the ground like a strange and massive stone city. The Blackhouse, the Shawbost Norse Mill and Kiln, and the Carloway Broch all offer insight into what life on Lewis used to look like. Cheerful Stornoway boasts a charming, colorful harbor and several lovely restaurants and pubs.

Great lunch, friendly host. This is a community hub and is just one long table. All food is freshly cooked to order with home made bread and oatmeal biscuits. It has a very friendly feel with all sorts of games and playing cards on the table - a really friendly place with a small gift shop selling local arts and crafts.

After walking round the village and visiting the museum it was a unique experience to have a coffee in the small on site cafe in one of the blackhouses. It gave you a better feel what it must have been like to live in one of these buildings. Coffee was good and I can recommend the home made shortbread too
The Wobbly Dog of Lewis is a family run dog friendly cafe and gift shop based in Ness at the north of the Isle of Lewis. We serve a large range of freshl baking including cakes, scones, pastries and soup all complemented with freshly ground filter coffee
We got a friendly wave from Mark, one of the owners of the Wobbly Dog, as we drove by to have a look at Port of Ness. On our return we called in and were treated to a rare delight in these parts - toasted teacakes! They, along with nice coffee and a friendly chat, made our visit very enjoyable. There was an interesting selection of crafts and antiques too.Although we aren't dog owners it is always good to see a place which offers a special welcome to the hairy beasts. Highly recommended. We shall be back!

I went there for lunch with my daughter, she ordered spaghetti bolognaise and I ordered the spicy basil chicken. My plate came at least 15 minutes before my daughter's food and we were both so hungry that she shared mine so we could both eat and then when her's came we both shared that. Not good service at all and just a quick apology for the delay but not exactly heartfelt. I commented to my daughter that it will be a long time before I take her there again for her lunch, we'd be better going to Eleven, at least we can get our food there the same time. It's a shame as the food is good but definately a repeated issue of food coming at different times.

Unfortunately the museum was closed for renovations whilst we were there but the tea room did not disappoint! After a lovely walk round the Butt of Ness we were ready for a cuppa and we definitely came to the right place. The tea was served in cups and saucers by lovely friendly staff and the lemon cake was to die for it was so light and fluffy! I am assured by my husband that the chocolate cake was equally as delicious. I wish the tea room wasn't so far away as I would definitely visit there again.Thank you for your kind review and we are so happy to hear your enjoyed your visit. We are so proud of the facilities we offer and hope you can visit again once our renovations are finished as it promises to be fantastic! We look forward to welcoming you again in the future!

A family friendly, small cafe on The Edge of the world! Come visit me for home cooked, to order, light meals or full meals.
On a wonderful winters day after walking for about 3 miles we happened upon The Edge Cafe.We were the only visitors there that day and Fiona made us feel very welcome.I fancied a cheese toastie and the nearest Fiona could make was cheese on toast, simple, but just what I wanted. My partner enjoyed homemade celery soup with home made bread.A large pot of coffee was served with no end of refills. We chatted with Fiona, Fiona's daughter and Fiona's friend and, before long, nearly two hours had passed. We purchased some locally made goods before heading for the door.Fiona very kindly offered us a lift to our car which was about two miles away, and, as the weather was closing in, we accepted.Thank you Fiona and friends for making our stay in your part of the world that little bit special.

We booked quite late on after a long day walking and site seeing, the setting is in an old school which is really an amazing place to sit and eat, the menu was pretty reasonable as are the prices. Everything homemade the bread was especially delicious. Marianne was great from booking until we left made us feel relaxed, so much so after our meal we sat with a drink reading some of the books on offer in the shelf. Recommend if in the Area!
