Things to do in Hydra
Nice front-row location next to ferry peer. Coffee was great. Very friendly staff, as almost everywhere on Hydra. Came back for drinks in the evening and to watch the world cup, it was equally relaxed and pleasant. Prices adjusted to the location.

We ate breakfast here four mornings, and had very good food, coffee, hot chocolate, breads, and excellent service. The location is superb for people and mule watching. The morning routine of unloading the transport ship and loading up the mules is worth the price of the breakfast! We had omelettes made from fresh eggs, great breakfast sandwiches and excellent hot chocolate. Very friendly service.

We went for lunch, only one waitress was serving the whole restaurant, most of time she was inside and didn't see us, while ordering she barely smiled.Should pay more attention to customers.

This wonderful coffee stop is perfectly located in the harbor. Inside the decor is very trendy and clean. Outside you can sit near all the activity of the ship deliveries and tourist walkabouts. Lots to watch.

Went here for a light bite and a refreshment. The tomato and feta bruschetta was superb. My husband had the club sandwich, also delicious. Just what the doctor ordered to satisfy our puckishness on a hot day. Staff were attentive and friendly.
Where to eat Greek food in Hydra: The Best Restaurants and Bars

We stopped at this restaurant/bar for supper one evening. We chose it because we understood it was a frequent haunt of Leonard Cohen when he lived on Hydra. Sadly, we were informed the restaurant did not serve evening meals once the prime tourist season was over. Oh well. We ordered some recommended margaritas. Lavender and jalapeño flavours. Wonderful flavours. Our server, Zeus, was very interested in our feedback as the bar was just testing this drink. He also helped us find a great place that was open late for supper. Wonderful place to sit and enjoy an evening drink. Got the t- shirt!

Papagalos was one of our most liked places on Hydra. Itâs a relaxed cafe/bar directly on the harbor with amazing views. The staff is super friendly and drinks/food are very good. The Greek breakfast (11â¬) is excellent, for drinks I recommend the very good Aperol Spritz. Also inside, itâs a super nice Location. This place feels like holidays and we will certainly come back one day. 5 stars!!!

Great for people watching as its right next to where the ferry docks. Quick service with good quality Greek food at reasonable prices.
Great food experience and service on first visit. Waiter gave a very good suggestion on a salad over the typical Greek salad. The salad was wonderful, and a meal in itself. Second experience was equally good with the Mediterranean breakfast, huge and very good quality food. Today, one of the same waiters was rude to my wife, floored me! She just wanted a cappuccino and croissant. The waiter brought the cappuccino 1st, while continentally asking for her croissant. They ignored her and she had to have her cappuccino alone. After about 10 to 15 minutes, my meal with my breakfast drink came (both together) along with her croissant which she tried to cancel after having the cappuccino. They wanted to force the croissant on her not listening. Finally, another waiter (not in uniform of the place) came over to tell my wife that it was rude on her part not to let the waiter know ahead of time that she wanted both items together. That was rude, very rude. I must say that I was shocked. The place was very busy, this time on a Saturday brunch hour of around 11:00. My meal was excellent with a great omelette and fresh squeezed orange juice to die for. But, this rude inexcusable behavior killed any chance of us returning to eat there. What a shame and mixed dinning experience.â¤ï¸

We came early afternoon and had a prime table for our lunch overlooking the sea. The food was very good and the service friendly and efficient. This place has an ideal spot - probably perfect at sunset!

We visited Spilia on the first day of our holidays and have felt compelled to continue coming back due to the wonderful group of people that work hard there to make the experience unparalleled. Christos has been looking after us for the past few days and truly goes above and beyond. We would highly recommend Spilia to anyone that is looking for a lovely place to spend the afternoon in close proximity to the water.
