The village is in the southwest of the town of Kingsbury, on US Route 4. Hudson Falls is part of the Glens Falls Metropolitan Statistical Area. As of the 2000 census, the village had a population of 6,927. It was the county seat of Washington County until 1994, when the county seat was moved to Fort Edward.

Just stopped in for a beer with my wife, to check out the place since it's new. Neither of the two people behind the bar knew anything about beer, and when I ordered a draft they said the taps weren't working. I asked what they had in cans, and they didn't know. They both took a bunch of cans out of the fridge and put them on the counter so I could see for myself, because they said the written list on the wall wasn't accurate. Empty cardboard boxes jammed against the wall, sloppy shelves behind the bar, and staff that were more interested in their cell phones than anything else. Plus, we were the ONLY customers, so you'd think we'd get great service. Aside from the poor housekeeping, the building architecture is beautiful, but I don't think I'm going to bother going back.

I have always loved Samantha's Café - the food is exceptional. ?The old building is interesting (check out their entrance-way door, the artwork, ceiling, etc.), plenty of seating, pleasant staff, but the reason to visit is the food. Specialty items and the best soup you'll find anywhere.

Have visited a couple of times. The PB coffee (hot or iced) is amazing! They offer alternative sweeteners such as agave (bonus!) And alternative creamers (almond milk... double bonus!) Prices are on parStaff never seems ready to take order or money and last time they were on the phone with what sounded like a private, police matter and it was extremely awkward.
