After hiking 4 miles around the Puâuhonua O Honamanau National Historic Park, we wanted lunch nearby. The super-nice lady at the park gift shop suggested this cafe, just up Hwy. 11. Just pull off the road into one of the parking spots. There are about 8 tables, including a couple near the windows and screen door where you get a lovely fresh breeze. Table service or food to go, plus a bakery counter. Also a pool table! Whatever you order for lunch, be sure to get the Citrus Slaw (shredded red cabbage with a special Hawaiian citrus dressing) and the Sweet Purple Potato Salad. You can purchase bags of 100% Kona Coffee from their affiliated coffee farm just up the road. This cafe was just what we needed to relax and recharge before more touring!

100% organic Kona coffee. Specializing in a variety of espresso drinks. Also available- fruit smoothies, teas, ice cream, fresh baked goods and sandwiches.
After eating gelato from down the road we really needed a coffee. We saw the sign and turned into the strip mall. What a pleasant surprise meeting Hoku and Jordan the owners of Da Kine Coffee. They brewed us excellent coffee, served home baked banana bread and entertained us with stories about their journey in life and life on the Big Island. What a welcome interlude for our day. I am really glad we stopped. Please visit their shop and support these young entrepreneurs. A business like theirs deserves to flourish and survive.

Good location not too far from the Two Step snorkel spot. Good natural food for reasonable prices. Sandwiches were good included vegan chick pea option. Tacos were good not great. Liked all the ingredients including the fish, cabbage and aioli however tortillas did not seemed heated so sort of ruined it. May have been a new cook? Breakfasts looked good. It is in a nice outdoor courtyard Not fancy but relaxing and in the shade. We would return to this restaurant. Also would like to try Annieâs burgers and big island bbq.

Hey my name is Robin. You can call me Big Rob. Big Rob's is a family owned and operated business bringing home style ono grinds to the South West Big Island! As the sole owner, I have been baking for over 30 years and I take pride and joy in my products.
It ain't pretty or centrally located, but Big Rob's restaurant is worth checking out, not only for the experience of meeting Rob but also because the food is great! As others have mentioned, Rob does pretty much everything himself. We thought he was all disorganized as far as ordering but suddenly Rob had lunch for 4 of us whipped up! We ordered everything from French toast to a fish sandwich and he mastered all of it.We wanted to return on our last day on the island but it was a Monday, and Rob's was closed! The man needs a day off. He expends a lot of energy. You gotta go!

Herbert is the name we gave to the lizard . Heâs a cute little dude who will gladly help you finish up your sweet jam. This is a gorgeous place to grab a coffee and some breakfast. Get there early for a good seat. Decent veggie options. Friendly staff. Service is super fast. My only tip: cut back on the cooking oil. Worth a visit..... if just to say hi to Herbert. Seeing Herbert may reminds you that all living beings have a soul... maybe skip the bacon next time

Serving Breakfast and Lunch options. The finest 100% Kona Coffee Beverages, and Fresh Fruit Smoothies.
This small establishment offers a cozy, relaxed vibe. 4 of us, ourselves and our 2 teenage grandsons visited for a late lunch. There is a pool table available which kept the boys occupied while we waited for our food. And when it did, we were all happy! Not only was it visually attractive but also delicious. Everything from the taco plate to the wraps and paninis was a hit. We wanted to return once more but found that the restaurant is closed on Mondays, the only day we could have gone.
