Things to do in Holywell
This is quick and easy, limited choice but dirt cheap. Marvellous bacon from Danny the Butcher across the arcade - likewise very soft and tasty cakes but don't know where sourced. Limited opening hours but it's run as part of an outreach charity supporting teens in town - so provides a bit of work experience and place to hang out in the evening for them.
I often give in to the temptations on offer as their steak pies, whilst not cheap, are superb. Really tasty and very good quality.I also have a weakness for their cream doughnuts and éclairs and if it wasn't for my diet I would probably eat a lot more of them.

Edenshine is very proud to serve excellent homemade foods. We focus on using fresh local ingredients as much as possible to provide high quality meals, from Breakfast, lunch, light bites and Afternoon Teas. Pudding is a real treat with everything baked in
A delightful restaurant contained within an old converted woollen mill which also houses an antique department beautifully laid out and full of wonderful items. The restaurant serves delicious home made food in the form of lunches and afternoon teas and the menu is substantial with a wide range to suit all tastes. The restaurant is licenced and bottles of wine are very reasonably priced. There is a large car park and outdoor seating. Not far from a junction on the A55 signposted Caerwys. Excellent service without being intrusive. Highly recommended and looking forward to my next visit. PLEASE DISREGARD MY USERNAME AS IT is inappropriate for this review. The cafe is in a favourable location yet from what i witnessed is badly managed. The cafe needs more stock.Fridge on a hot day only had ice cream,no ice lollies and very little choice. The gardens were scruffy.Hedges needed cutting, litter picked up.Some TLC needed. The young girls serving in the cafe havent got a clue. She was wandering around the garden with my order asking other people if they had ordered. Some training urgently needed.Rule number one is always remember who has ordered and go straight to them.Whover the manager is needs to wake up and do some managing at this place.Prices are quite high too and need to come down.Cappucino i had wasnt good, tasted like cocoa. This cafe has good potential,it just needs a good manager.

Have visited Kassidys in the past and it was okay my wife loved it and the kids eat their food. We were back in the area today went to the well and came back here as my wife was keen to go there (not so much me).We went in the place was busy staff were stood around the till area chatting away. All the empty tables were littered with plates with food on them or occupied.Wife went to a table for four but it had gravy on the chairs and tablecloth- plate of food and gravy all over the table. I was less keen to sit down. I went to the toilet which had no hand dryer and a towel for you to dry your hands on (not single use not hygenic). Toilet was reasonably clean. Came out and saw by the door a couple of bait traps ! that was enough for me. I sat down, table still had plates on it staff had still not cleaned it or the other dirty tables,Eventually waitress came over (don't know were the supervision was ? these people could not be bothered serving or doing anything) were we ready to order I said "No" I told my wife about the bait traps - I saw the other tables covered with old food cutlery. Thought perhaps not got up and walked out !The staff were less than attentative, couldnt be bothered clearing tables or doing much except for standing chatting.Place was a mess carpet was dirty old and pretty yukky â¦My wife posted a review which was a fair account of the place today this was followed by another post of someone with 9 reviews stating the place was amazing short time later .. a bit strange ??? ?? ?? perhaps look for yourself â¦.It might be amazing for some Im sure Chicken Dinners for £5.40 special is a god send to some people but not to me - what might be special for some might not be special to others ..This place was awful today I had to give it one star that was for the waitress bothering to even come over to our table at all ! Avoid ⦠or as I always say try it for yourself â¦"Caveat emptor "I have already spoken directly with the customer who left this review but would like to make a few details clear to anyone reading this review firstly the âbate trapsâ that the customer mentioned are actually just ant traps placed at our back door to PREVENT ants coming into the cafe during the summer a practice that is highly recommended by food hygiene who have assessed us regularly over the years and have always been happy with our standards and given us a 5* certificate. From what I can make out between this review, the review his wife left and the account of the member of staff involved etc is that the complaint boils down to the fact that the cafe was exceptionally busy when they called in and the few tables that didnât already have people on had not been cleared ready for the next customer. He acknowledges that his wife went and stood by a recently vacated table while he used our toilet facilities which he also acknowledges were clean despite his dissatisfaction that there was only a clean hand towel rather than a hand dryer. By the time he came out of the toilet he has previously acknowledged in a private email conversation that a member of staff was clearing the table and spilt gravy off the chair left from the previous occupant. He assumed his wife had asked the member of staff to do this but as shown by his wifeâs review and confirmed by the staff member involved this is not the case and the staff cleared the table at her 1st opportunity and asked if they were ready to order at which point they said no and left.

Been here a few times over the years. Food always good and was on last visit. However you lose the will to live at the waiting times, please employ a couple more staff, and it would be perfect. One hour from order for breakfast and a mug of tea 55 minutes. Good job I was not in a rush.

This is a regular Sunday morning stop. Travel for 15 minutes and always for breakfast. (Would still go there if I lived further away). Staff are polite and always keen to make sure you are happy with your meal. Have also been for lunch and afternoon tea. Can't fault this place, staff or the surroundings. Thanks guys
