Visited cafe on a rainy morning, sat with cake and coffee on terrace overlooking lake ,then a troupe of monkeys came out of trees and starting playing about on the lawn, great to watch, when rain stopped we went to walk round lake but pathway is closed,as is all of the nature reserve,so you only get a glimpse of the place, there is a large walk in aviary with flamingos, again shut, and if you purchase some fish food you can feed the large tarpon in the lake.Considering the cafe is only 100 m from the road it is unbelievably quiet and peaceful, just a great shame that the reserve is shut to the public.

Tea salons get my attention everywhere I go, because I prefer light meals with refreshing, non carbonated, overly sweet beverages. Novel Teas was perfect! The vast selection of teas and salads was a bit overwhelming at first, but I was able to narrow my choices by selecting things I hadn't had before. So I chose the Veg to Please (or something like that) salad because it was dressed with a smoked tea dressing. Had always wanted to try it. When I was offered a choice of lettuce or spinach leaves as base, I knew I had found the right spot for me.I'm not a big fan of bubble teas, so because I wanted a cold tea, I ordered an "espresso" that had a base of local fruit juice and a "shot" of roobois tea. Both were excellent new taste experiences! The salad had a hint of heat from the pickled cucumbers, so I want to replicate at home. Dressing was tasty without overpowering salad ingredients. They also well sushi which seemed to be very popular. They also sell a tofu wrap which I have never seen but want to try if I see it again! I left inspired to try new salads and teas. Oh! And I left with half my salad to enjoy later. It still tasted good wilted! Can't wait to try to make it at home.Dear Ms411,Thank you for visiting us and for your wonderful words. We are delighted that you enjoyed your salad and espresso tea, both of which are unique to us on the island - our salad ingredients are rich in herbs and spices but our dressings are truly unique as we infuse a variety of our teas in them (like the one you had with the Lapsang Souchong smoked black tea). And the fresh Red juice drink you had which is made from our rooibos espresso containing 5 times the antioxidants of green tea, and loaded with iron and minerals as well.Sushi is a very popular lunch item and is prepared fresh daily by one of the top chefs in Barbados, so I hope on your next visit you will give this a try (and yes the tofu pockets are excellent). We look forward to your next visit and please make it a point to say hello.

We came here Friday night, after going to Oistins and leaving early. The place has a good feel to it and it is right on the beach. I can imagine it could be really good in there. The food was good, my burger was good. What let it down was the service, we were pretty much left on our own and not asked how things were, if we wanted more drinks etc. It wasn't even busy, the staff just looked quite bored and disinterested.

I have to say Iâve been to many places around the world and this is truly local place with jazz, the best thing a family atmosphere with the owner host working every table in such a personal manner. You really are made to feel welcome if you visit once or as luck as myself to visit many time. I always make a stop here when in Barbados

Soooooo everyone said come here for breakfast. We came. Arrived at 9am. Granted no reservation. We were sat at 9:17. Not bad. They took the order about 15 mins later. Itâs now 11:24 and of the 5 of us. Only two have received our meals. Ohhh and one of us didnât get cutleryIâm not sure if they are either understaffed or have too many tables to manage the rush but something has to give and today it was service. Service gave way under the pressure. At 11:25am. 2 more came. Still missing one. Bliss was honestly not blissful today.

We stopped here for lunch as we passed it a few times and remembered good reviews. It was fine. I asked for chicken strips. I think I got pork. The fries were fresh for sure! "Special" potatoes were just seasoning salt covered. Jerk chicken panini looked good that spouse had. Fairly underwhelming.

Serving breakfast and lunch, lattes, cappuccinos and delicious smoothies..Try our full English breakfast..Yumm!!
Charged us 24 BD$ for 6 slices of toast which I can only describe as nothing short of daylight robbery - they had nothing else to offer us hence only option of toast, you may question why we did not ask the price prior to ordering - well, would you expect to pay the best part of £12 for a few bits of toast, neither would I - my wife out of courteousness paid the bill and we left. This a cautionary tale, this venue may have had lots of positive reviews but I am guessing having a refurb to pay for they have decided to charge their only income, us tourists, the earth. I will not be going back, poor form.

We are so sad we only discovered this on our last day. Trying to find breakfast or lunch has been difficult! Donât head into Bridgetown for lunch. Head here! Especially if youâre staying at the Hilton or the radisson. The breakfast there are very underwhelming, so unless youâre getting free, avoid! Great food here, lovely setting, good coffee (there is no coffee weâve found as yet! All uht milk ) I had flying fish caesar. Absolutely delicious!!

I went in the morning for pancakes for the children and cake and a coffee and made the most of the excellent freshly made takeaway menu. The service was excellent, the pancakes portion was good and the home made Compot really delicious. The coffee was great too and what I really loved was I could take away frozen quiche and lasagne at v reasonable prices so I could have fresh cooked food, additive free and so easy for family dinners when I donât have time to cook. Thatâs a rare treat on this island. Thanks guys!
