We ordered mixed sandwiches for 20 people for a pre-wedding lunch and were not disappointed. There was plenty of choice and the bread was really tasty. We supplemented the order with some large homemade sausage rolls which soon disappeared. A great choice, weâd return if we could.Thank you for your review. Took visiting family in mid-afternoon to show what we were raving about following trips to former premises in Cockenzie and Gullane. Great job in bringing the Haddington premises to life. Still great selection of cakes. Sadly four of us wanted the French Toast as it sounded delicious. After placing the order we were told there was no French Toast left. Iâm no cook, but is it possible not to have the ingredients for French Toast in such a place!?

Great coffe and bacon butty . poor cook was running the whole place on tha busy Sunday morning whilst her helper was useless, making the cooks job much harder ... poor lady. Helper needs to look for another job as everythinng she did was wrong ,,, comical :)

We had lunch here just before Easter and it really was a wonderful meal. When you look over a menu, there are usually a few items on there you could give a miss, but when I looked over The Carlyle's menu, every single course sounded so god, I realised for the first time, I could easily pick every item on the menu!As I could only pick one, I went for the Seafood Knickerbocker Glory and it really was terrific! I wanted it to never end! The others in my group all picked different meals and every one looked and tasted very, very good! The Haloumi Salad, the Mushroom Risotto and Fish Cakes - all top, top, top!Highly recommended, genuinely friendly staff and can't wait to go back!

This is an excellent combination of deli shop and cafe. It serves excellent coffee plus a range of other drinks such as hot chocolate in cosy, clean, welcoming surroundings. Baking is home made and the cakes look extremely good. Various casual food items can be purchased on a take out basis and they all look delicious. The shop has some good quality deli produce along the lines you would anticipate including oatcakes, chutneys, cheeses, condiments etc etc. This shop is definitely worth calling in if you are passing through Haddington.
