Family run cafe serving homemade hot meals, snacks and cakes at affordable prices Outside catering available Room hire available Afternoon teas
Dirty floor, water stained cutlery and stains and the wallpaper. It is a cafe...i would expect a little mess but this is below the standards. They food they use is smart price food. Weak tea bag...the coke cola is cheap unfizzy type, cakes out of a packet and cheap tasting hard bread. I get that they need to make profit but people are not going to come and tell thier friends not to go. Smarten the place up and get some half decent food. The prices you charge are above what foods you receive. Nice staff friendly people. We are sorry you had a bad experience at the Cafe, all of our food is home made cakes are baked onsite daily and no cakes or food other than bread and tea cakes are bought in, we only use coca-cola or Pepsi, usually in a can so Iâm sorry you didnât not like this when you came. The bread is bought daily and we have never ever bought or served any smart price produce. I am sorry you found the place to seem dirty, but the cafe is cleaned daily, and we go above and beyond to make sure our customers visits are always pleasant and enjoyable. We keep our prices low and only serve quality home cooked food so I am sorry you were not happy when you visited. We ask our customers to give feedback which we appreciate all forms of feedback to help our business perform better. Did you comment at the time to a member of staff about your dissatisfaction to give us an opportunity to rectify any problems you may have had?We look forward to welcoming you back and hopefully giving you a better experience next timeManagement at Poppins Cafe

Can only vouch for my mug of tea as i didnt eat anything. The major thing that put me off my tea is i wasnt given milk i was given UHT milk in little containers. This is a cafe, where no doubt you will serve tons of teas and coffees every day.You probably even get asked for glasses of milk or even milkshakes, and unfortunately for you, youre unable to do this.Shame cos it could probably be a good place

Absolutely loved the full English breakfast, staff were polite and welcoming, full of smiles. I'd recommend for anyone in search of a hangover cure, good warm meal or light lunch. The desserts look absolutely delicious too, can't wait to get back to try one!

We visited towards the end of lunch time and there were several choices left, Turkey, sausage pie, mince beef pie or we were told we could have sausages and mash. None of theses are particular favourites of mine. The member of staff (Louise), could see my dilemma and said just wait here and Iâll see what else there is. She returned saying they would rustle up some chicken for me. We paid for our food and drink and found a table. Our meals arrived quite quickly to say they were cooking some fresh chicken for me and they were very generous portions. Mine was a butterfly chicken breast with cabbage, parsnips, carrots, mashed potatoes, roast potatoes, a Yorkshire pudding and huge boat of gravy, my husband was the same except heâd chosen roast turkey. To say the food had been massed produced and put in heated cabinets it was still tasty as we were one of the last to be served. What made the meal better was the extra special service we received from Louise, who went above and beyond to make sure there was an option for me. Thank you! We shared a portion of the fruit roulade to finish and it was delicious. We will return.
