Gorizia [ɡoˈrittsja] listen (help·info) (Slovene: Gorica, colloquially stara Gorica 'old Gorizia', German: Görz, Friulian: Guriza) is a town and comune in northeastern Italy, in the autonomous region of Friuli Venezia Giulia. It is located at the foot of the Julian Alps, bordering Slovenia. It is the capital of the Province of Gorizia and a local center of tourism, industry, and commerce. Since 1947, a twin town of Nova Gorica has developed on the other side of the modern-day Italian–Slovenian border. The entire region was subject to territorial dispute between Italy and Yugoslavia after World War II: after the new boundaries were established in 1947 and the old town was left to Italy, Nova Gorica was built on the Yugoslav side. Taken together, the two towns constitute a conurbation, which also includes the Slovenian municipality of Šempeter-Vrtojba. Since May 2011, these three towns are joined in a common trans-border metropolitan zone, administered by a joint administration board.

Si, come da titolo...probabilmente i gestori erano troppo impegnati in alcune tavolate esterne che curare gli altri clienti all'interno...nessuna possibilità di avere un panino (alle 20 di sera), se non uno già preparato in un vassoio sul banco...ordinati tre aperitivi, che il cameriere è venuto a chiederci tre volte cosa avevamo chiesto, perchè era difficile scriverlo su un pezzo di carta, se la memoria non aiuta..serviti senza una patatina, stuzzichino o altro...zero assoluto...no, mi spiace, così non funziona..

While drinking a good coffee and having some really good pastries (I recommend their macaroons) you can enjoy a really nice view of the castle and the underlying Piazza Vittoria.

If you want to have a SPRITZ aperitivo you have to choose this one! very cheap (only Euro2.50) and very good. I go very often when in Gorizia and is the only bar where I go to work in internet, they have fast WIFI

Galleria Cafe is my usual morning stop whenever I am in Gorizia for some casual shopping. It offers nice atmosphere just in the center of the town. I recommend you âmarrochinoâ with croissant with marmalade. My stay is usual not more than 20 minutes and I never had any extra wishes. Just I noticed last time that in the middle of January they did not use heating. I was fast enough anyway.
