Our consumer choices come down to personal preferences, particularly with regard to restaurants. Some like meat while others prefer seafood; we choose between fast-casual or fine dining; Chinese or Italian; etc. Yet, no matter our personal preferences, most everyone is looking for the same essential elements in a restaurant---fresh, tasty food, reasonable prices, good service, and a pleasant atmosphere. Cafe Med excels in each of those areas. Located in a rather nondescript strip mall in an area populated largely by offices, Cafe Med is a pleasant oasis with modern art pieces on the walls, glass-topped tables covering interesting tablecloths, comfortable chairs, and an inviting atmosphere. The menu is extensive with the usual Mediterranean appetizers; a wide range of salads; interesting pita, subs, and focaccia creations; and desserts. We enjoyed the hummus, original gyros, and chicken tuscano pita. It was obvious that each dish was freshly made with high quality ingredients. The chicken tuscano pita was the tastiest chicken dish I've had. We were going to pass on dessert but the owner prevailed upon us to try the baklava. We have never enjoyed the dish, finding it too sweet. Not here. The baklava is filled with fresh, chopped pistachios covered in flaky pastry and was the perfect end to our meal. To complete the experience, the kind, interesting owner engaged us in very pleasant conversation. Excellent food, freshly prepared, quality ingredients, reasonable prices and a family-run business. We're jealous, Memphis. Were Cafe Med in our town, we would be regulars.

Java Cafe is a cute, quaint neighborhood restaurant. I frequently meet friends there for a quite lunch. Seating in side walk outside is nice. Staff very friendly and make you feel very welcome. Food is great. Recommend the chicken salad. Other salads are fresh and very good too!

Happy Glaze Donut Food Truck was at our Church this morning. They offered fresh cooked mini donuts in many flavors and glazes and served them in adorable boxes with flat wooden picks to eat them with! A dozen or more was only $5! They melted in your mouth!
