Things to do in Garstang
It was a very hot and busy day, staff working hard. Love Wallings and this is going to stop people going there I guess. Major problem is the milkshake recipe 2 scoops versus a load of milk...needs to be mostly ice cream, you should not pay the equivalent of a three scoop price (6 actual scoops) and only get 1 scoop. I donât think anyone on the team likes milkshakes or they would definitely change the recipe! No real banana either whereas the chocolate bar ones had chocolate bars...Iâm sure they will get better
Its not a restaurant, just a roadside butty shop, I ordered a cheese and tomato toastie and was served some strange slab of burnt cheese and onion between two slices of toast. I have never had a toastie like this before and never want one again.

My wife & I had heard about this place so last Friday we set out to find it and try it! We duly arrived and negotiated the single track approach road over the river. Parking was plentiful as we arrived but that soon changed as more & more people arrived. We had a look at the Nursery and both of us liked what we saw - mainly good quality & good quantity of plants though we identified a number of plants that were covered in Black Fly. It is a pleasant environment to slowly wander around which is what we did for 25/30 minutes. We then headed for the restaurant where we were greeted by a member of staff and invited to find ourselves a table. This we did, we then looked at the food on offer, made our choices and waited. I ordered a Jerk chicken wrap and my wife ordered the daily Quiche and two strong black coffees. I stressed "strong" but as usual we got standard black coffee that was not going to set anyone's taste buds ringing. Our food arrived, it was nicely presented and it tasted good - so two "strong" coffees and two sandwich main courses cost just under £20.00.We'll go again and I'll try again to get decent coffee!
Our local society enjoyed its annual Christmas meal in a room which was just the perfect size for our party of 34. Storm Bernard had done its worst in the countryside around, but the hotel staff were welcoming and understanding of the issues that delayed the arrival of some of our number. The table was beautifully decorated, the food was served quickly and efficiently and was most enjoyable. The mackerel and trout pate received many commendations and those who had opted for the hake rather than the turkey were impressed by the fact that so many portions of fish had been so well prepared and served in a 'mass catering' event.

Occasionally it is hard to find a fault and this was one of those occasions, Credit to the owner providing excellent value good quality food in a lovely atmosphere. Intend returning just for the pleasure of being there. Should be a lot more expensive than it is and will definitely be back to take advantage again.Thank you for this lovely review! - there's nothing else I can say really!!

Great ingredients and excellent baking make the Deli a place we frequently go for lunch.Very popular for with locals for eat in or take-away. If you plan a late lunch you may find some of the specials have gone. My wife just got the last quiche! You can take your own alcohol.

We chose this cafe from Tripadvisor as our lunch destination for our bike ride and we're really glad we did. The friendly owner and staff welcome you as you walk in the door, but not in a pushy way. We had a delicious big slice of fresh, warm quiche with a wide variety of fresh salads. The food looks delicious, and the taste does not disappoint! Watching the staff prepare fresh food for the customers with a real but casual attention to detail is a delight. They slice the bread freshly for sandwiches, and slice the ham by hand too. This cafe is certainly on our radar for future visits.

We took some friends here who called to see us on the campsite for a meal . The visitors had looked online but sadly the menu was different, and we felt the choice was limited. The specials were no great shakes that day either. The explanation was that they haven't been able to change the website since ownership changed, very disappointing. The food was good enough, but the drinks prices absolutely extortionate. There's absolutely no reason for the alcoholic drinks to be so very very expensive, total rip off. We'd go again alone when we are on the campsite , but we were embarrassed for our visitors, it wasnt as good as we had been expecting. We'd go into Garstang another time, there's much better value for money places.Hi Diane, I am pleased to inform you that the problems with our website have now been resolved, and once again I apologise that it was not up to date , this was a issue that we were working hard to resolve and thankfully we have. we feel our drink prices are not over priced for our venue and in fact we offer some good deals on drinks including just £1 more to make spirits up to a double, and we always advise if drinking wine it is a better deal to buy a bottle rather than to keep buying individual glasses, our bottle beers and ciders are in line with most venues in the area, we are pleased you enjoyed your food and hope to see you again soon kind regards julie
