This place is small, only about 20 seats. We had to wait to be seated, but well worth the 10 minute wait. The staff extremely personable and friendly. The food appropriately priced with large portions. You watch your meal being prepared and the meal is delivered right from the griddle to your plate. This well worth a stop.

Wasn't my choice for a birthday celebration and I felt sorry for the guest of honor. Absolutely nothing to make you feel special on your big day. Parking is a pain. The small lots are hard to navigate and street parking is difficult. Service was terrible and our server ignored us most if the evening and the wait time for a condiment request was ridiculous. The food for dinner was not great. I had the salmon and it was dry and overly salty. I wouldn't recommend a celebratory dinner here, there are so many other great options.

An artisan bakery and cafe serving made-from-scratch breads, pastries, cookies, rolls, as well as a full hot breakfast and lunch menu
Located not far from Patisserie 46 it was at Sun Street Breads that Saturday Breakfast began, the first of three stops finding Chef Solveig Tofte and her team serving a full house just as they have been since opening in 2011.Designed as a European Bakery focused first on technique, Chef Tofte a one time competitor in Parisâ Coupe du Monde before returning to Minneapolis where her Baguettes and Loaves quickly sold out at Kingfield Farmers Market, 2018 now sees Sun Street serving as a full-service Restaurant for Breakfast and Lunch from Tuesday through Sunday.Set up for counter-style ordering with what would appear to be plenty of seating, menus near the door and on walls allowing most to compose an order while waiting in line, it was finally reaching the front that plans for Pancakes were terminated in favor of six Pastries, the total cost just over $20 a veritable bargain for tastes starting out with a Viennoiserie densely packed in Green Onions, Sweet Potatoes and Goat Cheese.Continuing savory with a still-warm Biscuit, several layers of Buttermilk and Flour riddled with Sweet Corn and Bacon plus pockets of Cheese, it is in tribute to Healdsburg Creamery that Sun Street offers The Downtowner, a laminated spiral rising high in the middle where it is gooey with Butter and spices while the exterior is generously covered in Granulated Sugar Frankly impressed by the variety offered from such a small display, the enriched Dough of an Eastern European Kolach next spilling fresh Blackberries and Cream Cheese, suffice it to say that no Clotted Cream or Preserves are necessary to enjoy Tofteâs Raspberry Cream Scone as both are already incorporated into the buttery base while an item dubbed âCrusher Croissantâ skips overly-sweet Frangipane in favor of housemade Almond Butter and inserts two cores of Chocolate at the center of shattering Dough flecked by Salt.

We stopped in for breakfast while visiting Minneapolis and loved this place! The menu had plenty of breakfast choices, the food was delicious, and our server was delightful. The decor was thrift store, throw back fabulous, and it was busy on a Tuesday morning mostly with regulars, which is always a good sign. We definitely recommend Hot Plate!

I've eaten here on a number of occasions, for lunch, breakfast or just a snack. The quality of the offerings is amazingly high. It is a good thing that I don't live nearby, otherwise I would be here quite often. The pastries are of a very high quality. Egg souffle, quiches, and french toast are also excellent.

Located in the heart of the Linden Hills neighborhood, the Zumbro is a bustling family-owned restaurant serving innovative and delicious takes on favorite breakfast, brunch and lunch items.
We took a long, early morning walk around Lake Harriet and down Minnehaha Parkway with friends and rewarded ourselves with a delicious brunch at Zumbro Cafe in the Linden Hills neighborhood of Minneapolis. The food was fresh and satisfying and our server was fabulous--our coffee cups were always full (and the coffee was always hot) and she attentively took care of our special requests. Among the four of us, we had the Huevos Zumbrosos (tasty--the fresh avocado added color and creamy texture to the egg/queso fresco/homemade salsa, tortilla dish). The Benedict special featured pulled pork instead of ham, and the buckwheat pancakes were a huge hit. We all cleaned our plates!

Mine: soft poached eggs (though I only can ever eat one, even here) over/with black beans and white rice, plantains (maduros) Cuban toast. And that tamarind hot sauce. Sigh. Heavenly. And perfect café con leche. Hers: two pancakes, one mango the other corn. Real bacon. Iced cold brew. Ours: a shaded table outside, after a short wait, even on a late Thursday morning.
